It has been a real pleasure celebrating with our students, who should be incredibly proud of all they have achieved. So many have shown remarkable resilience, determination and perseverance, often in the face of challenging circumstances.

A superb performance on Sports Day this week sealed a memorable victory and capped off a fantastic year of competition, commitment and house spirit.

National Recognition for Our Award-Winning Technology Department!

We are bursting with pride after our Tech team accepted two incredibly prestigious national accolades yesterday!

Marking a decade at St George’s, our fantastic Head of Technology was awarded the regional D&T Leader Certificate of Excellence. He is one of just 14 teachers across the entire country recognised for his outstanding leadership and dedication to inspiring the next generation.

In addition, the entire Technology Department has been officially recognised as a National Hub and center for excellence! Thanks to the team's incredible passion, these subjects are booming—making St George's the largest center for Design and Technology in the UK.

Keep an eye out for their shiny new plaque, which will be proudly displayed in school reception soon. Huge congratulations to Scott and the whole team on this well-deserved success!

🎭 Heatwaves, History, and Hilarity! ☀️

Huge congratulations to our incredible Lower School Drama group for delivering a sensational production of 'Jill and Fred’s Hysterical Historical Adventure!'

Beating the blistering heatwave by relocating to the Assembly Hall, over 60 talented students from Years 7–9 took audiences on a wild, time-traveling journey. Inspired by 'Horrible Histories' and 'Monty Python', the story followed two modern-day influencers using a smart speaker to raid the past and save their family museum.

From rebranding "not-so-vicious" Vikings to dodging strict Victorian teachers, the cast kept packed houses laughing with sharp comedic timing and cheeky nods to daily life at St George’s, Harpenden.

A massive thank you to Mr. Wallace, our brilliant Year 10 and 12 helpers, and the entire cast and crew for delivering a genuine summer triumph!

Bravo to everyone involved! 👏✨

Middle School House Bake Off 2026!

Wow. Our Middle School bakers absolutely turned up the heat this week—literally! Facing some seriously challenging temperatures in the kitchen, their dedication to their Houses, sheer determination, and incredible perseverance completely shone through.

The "Picnic Showstoppers" were nothing short of delightful. We are so incredibly proud of the fabulous dishes they managed to create under pressure.

Next up: Lower School!

The bar has been set incredibly high, but we know our younger bakers are ready for the challenge.

Unforgettable Memories at the Year 11 Prom!
On Thursday night, our incredible Year 11s celebrated the end of their GCSE exams in absolute style! The stunning Walled Garden at Luton Hoo provided the perfect backdrop for a truly magical evening.

From glamorous arrivals to non-stop dancing, it was an absolute joy to watch them celebrate.

Our students looked absolutely fantastic, dressed to the nines and radiating confidence.

They were exceptionally well-behaved throughout the night, making themselves, their families, and our entire school community incredibly proud.

After months of hard work and exam stress, seeing them laughing, dancing, and marking the end of this major chapter together was truly special.

An event this spectacular doesn't just happen by magic. We want to send a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to the amazing parents who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise this stunning night. You created an experience these students will cherish forever!

To our wonderful Year 11s: You've officially closed this chapter in the most positive way possible. We can't wait to see what you achieve next!

The Harpenden Schools Debate Showdown

This Tuesday, Katherine Warrington School hosted the three other Harpenden secondary schools for the termly Harpenden Schools debate competition.

In an evening of delicious discourse, our students performed to a consistently superb standard. It was particularly pleasing to see four students making their debuts for St George's and they debated with poise, precision and skill.

Thanks to KWS for hosting, and well done to Sophia G and Aine W for winning best debating pair!
