We are excited to share that we have 5 beautiful butterflies 🦋 ready to release into the pre school garden! Over the weekend, Crunchy Colin, Wiggly Lyla, Fluffy Grinch, Fuzzy Rainbow and Scatty Tomato Legs (all named by the children!) emerged from their cocoons. Everyone was so excited to finally meet them and have thoroughly enjoyed learning all about the lifecycle of a butterfly. The children have been enjoying our current topics of holiday and life cycles. Our roleplay and sand area have become a beach with a shop, where children have used their imagination and pretend play skills to roleplay being on holiday. There has been lots of play discussion around their own experiences which has been lovely to see.
Our 5 caterpillars have now spun their silky cocoons, which we have been observing very closely. We wait in anticipation to see when our butterflies emerge. This experience has created a keen interest in all things caterpillar and butterfly. Our topic table has been a popular spot to learn all about them.

We are very pleased to share with you that we are now officially a tooth friendly nursery. Staff have completed training and will continue to support the children to maintain good oral health routines and the importance of tooth brushing. The children all brush their teeth so well after lunch and we hope this helps them to cooperate with good oral hygiene including brushing their teeth at home.
In the new academic year we will be having a visit from Loraine where she will provide a parent/carer meeting to discuss the importance of good oral health for your children and about visiting the dentist, look out for this date! 🦷🪥

Today we enjoyed making our own ST George’s day flags and talked about how brave and strong he was. We finished off our ST George’s day with a parade in our preschool garden, waving our flags and practicing some mindfulness yoga poses of ‘we are strong’ ‘we are kind’ and ‘we are wise’ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🗡️🛡️🐴💪🏻
