☀️ Summer at the KIT Room ☀️

What a brilliant start to our new summer sessions! 🙌🏻💚

We tried something different inside the KIT Room… and I absolutely loved it!

From designing and sculpting our own clay creatures and building their habitats, to becoming junior scientists with lava lamps, Skittles experiments, Mentos & Coke and the egg-drop challenge, we have thrown themselves into everything with so much creativity, curiosity and confidence.

These sessions were never meant to feel like traditional tutoring. The idea behind Summer at the KIT Room was to create a small, welcoming space where children could make, explore, build, discover and have fun together — and I think these first sessions have captured exactly that. 😊

👀 A little sneak peek into tomorrow’s first Summer at the KIT Room session… 🎨🐉

The resources are coming together ready for our Creature Laboratory, where the children will be inventing their own completely unique species, sculpting them from clay and building a habitat for them to live in!

I’m genuinely so excited to get started and see what strange, colourful and imaginative creatures are created tomorrow. There is no “right” way to do it — the whole session is about experimenting, being creative and making something they can feel proud to take home. 😊

This is the first time I’ve run something like this at the KIT Room, so I’ll be learning and creating alongside them too… which feels very fitting!

☀️ Summer at the KIT Room starts NEXT WEEK! ☀️

I’m so excited to welcome the first group of children into the KIT Room for the launch of something completely new!

There are still a few spaces remaining, so if you’ve been thinking about booking, now’s the perfect time. 😊

🎨 Wednesday 5th August – Creature Laboratory
Children will invent their own unique creature, sculpt it from clay and build a 3D habitat for it to live in before taking their creation home!

🧪 Thursday 6th August – The KIT Lab
A morning packed with exciting hands-on science experiments, engineering challenges and scientific discoveries!

🕙 10:00am – 12:00pm
👥 Maximum of just 4 children per session
💷 £30 per child

These sessions are designed to have more of a summer club feel than traditional tutoring. They’ll be packed with creativity, practical activities, teamwork and confidence-building, all within a calm, welcoming environment where every child has the chance to get involved.

☀️ Introducing… Summer at the KIT Room! ☀️

I’m so excited to finally share something a little different this summer! 🎉

Over the holidays, I’ll be running small-group, hands-on sessions from the KIT Room, designed to encourage creativity, confidence, connection and fun in a calm and welcoming environment.

🧒 Maximum of just 4 children per session, meaning every child gets involved and feels part of the experience.

🗓️ Opening Week

🎨 Wednesday 5th August – Creature Laboratory
Become an official Creature Designer! Invent your own unique creature, sculpt it from clay and build a 3D habitat for it to live in before taking your creation home.

🧪 Thursday 6th August – The KIT Lab
Become a Junior Scientist and enjoy a morning packed with exciting hands-on experiments, engineering challenges and scientific discoveries, with plenty to take home too!

📚 Another busy week in the KIT Room complete! 🙌🏻

One thing I love about Fridays is taking a few minutes to look back on everything that’s happened over the week.

There have been plenty of smiles, lots of hard work, some fantastic conversations and, most importantly, children continuing to grow in confidence. Seeing children become more willing to have a go, ask questions and enjoy learning never gets old! 👏🏻🤞🏻

One of those new ideas is something I’m really excited about!
I’m exploring the possibility of running small-group summer workshops throughout the holidays—bringing together creativity, practical activities, teamwork and plenty of fun in the KIT Room.

At the moment, I’m simply looking to see whether it’s something families would like to see. If you haven’t already, I’d really appreciate you taking a look at the poster and registering your interest. It only takes a minute and will really help shape what this could become.

📚 Another week wrapped up in the KIT Room… and this one was a little different.

If I’m honest, I didn’t take many photos this week. Sometimes I get so caught up in the sessions, conversations and moments with the children that reaching for my phone is the last thing on my mind… and I think that’s no bad thing. 😊

This week also marked my final session with one of my students before they move on to their next chapter. It’s always bittersweet saying goodbye, but seeing how much they’ve grown in confidence over the time we’ve worked together makes me incredibly proud.

To top it off, I was completely surprised with some lovely gifts and kind words from the family. Gestures like that really do mean the world and are a reminder of why I love doing what I do. Thank you so much 💚

Another week in the KIT Room… and I think it’s safe to say we’ve all earned anything cold this weekend! 😅☀️

Despite the heat, it’s been another fantastic week filled with laughter, learning and creativity. I’m incredibly proud of every child who’s walked through the KIT Room door this week and given everything a go—even at times when it felt more like a sauna than a classroom! 😂

This week has also been exciting behind the scenes as I’ve started exploring something a little different for the summer holidays… ☀️

You may have spotted my Summer at the KIT Room poster! At the moment I’m simply looking to see whether there’s interest from families in small-group creative workshops filled with arts & crafts, baking, games, team challenges and lots of fun. ☀️ Something a little different could be coming to the KIT Room this summer… ☀️

Over the last few months, I’ve had lots of conversations with parents about the summer holidays and how quickly children can lose routine, confidence and opportunities to socialise.

So! I was thinking…

What if there was a place where children could come together in small groups to be creative, make friends, build confidence and have fun?

I’m exploring the idea of running a series of KIT Room Summer Workshops featuring activities such as arts & crafts, baking, team challenges, creative projects and much more 🎨🧁🌿🧩

At this stage, I’m simply looking to gauge interest and hear from families before I start planning anything officially.

📚✨ Another week in the KIT Room ✨📚

Sitting down to reflect on the week, one thing stands out more than anything else... how incredibly grateful I am.

Of course, there have been lots of brilliant learning moments, confidence-building conversations and plenty of hard work from the children already attending sessions.
But this week has also been filled with something equally special — meeting lots of new families and hearing their stories.

Over the last few days, I’ve had the privilege of sitting in living rooms, chatting with parents and children, discussing their experiences of school, home education, confidence, learning challenges and hopes for the future.
Every family is different. Every child is different. And that’s exactly why I love what I do.
One thing that keeps coming up in these conversations is confidence. So many children are capable of far more than they believe, and helping them rediscover that belief in themselves is one of the most rewarding parts of this job 🙌🏻💚

I’m incredibly thankful to every family who continues to trust me, recommend me and invite me into their journey.

It’s been a busy week, but a really exciting one, and I’m looking forward to welcoming even more children into the KIT Room over the coming weeks 😊

📚Welcome back! 📚

I hope everyone had a fantastic half term break and managed to enjoy some of the heat!☀️

Although schools were on a break, it certainly wasn’t quiet here! Between continuing sessions with some of my students, meeting lots of new families, arranging home visits and getting straight back into our regular timetable this week, it’s been a busy but incredibly rewarding period!

I’m feeling incredibly grateful for the support, recommendations and trust that families continue to place in me. Seeing the KIT Room grow and welcoming new children into sessions is something I never take for granted 💚

Now we’re back into routine and ready for another exciting half term ahead filled with confidence building, learning and plenty of those all-important “lightbulb moments” 💡📚
