🎃👻 HALLOWEEN AT THE KIT ROOM! 👻🎃

Something a little spooky is coming to the KIT Room this October half term… 👀

After having such a brilliant time with Summer at the KIT Room, I wanted to bring it back for half term — this time with a Halloween twist! 🕷️🧙‍♀️

I’m planning some fun-filled 2-hour Halloween sessions packed with creativity, mess, games, challenges and plenty of spooky activities! 🎃

Think pumpkin carving, slime, Halloween creations, spooky treats, games and lots more! 👻✨

These sessions aren’t tutoring — they’re simply a chance for children to come along, get creative, have some fun, meet others and enjoy everything Halloween in our small and welcoming KIT Room environment. 💚

🎃 £30 per child
⏰ 2-hour session
📍 Hosted at the KIT Room, Harlow
👥 Very limited spaces – maximum 4 children per session

At the moment, I’m asking families to register their interest so I can get an idea of numbers before confirming everything!

💚 Another week in the KIT Room complete… and time for a little break! 📚✨

Another brilliant week of learning, laughter, challenges, creativity and plenty of proud moments with all of the children who have come through the KIT Room doors! 🙌🏻

It’s always lovely looking back through the photos at the end of each week (if I remember to take them haha!) and seeing just how much we manage to squeeze into our sessions — and, most importantly, seeing the confidence and personalities of the children shine through. 💚

The KIT Room will now be a little quieter for the next week as I’m heading away to surprise some family! ✈️☀️

Grateful.

We’ll be back and ready to go again from Monday 12th October, and I’m sure I’ll return with plenty of new ideas up my sleeve! 📚🙌🏻

AND… while I’m away, keep your eyes peeled because something a little spooky is coming… 👀🎃👻

I’m currently putting together plans for Halloween at the KIT Room during October half term! Think Halloween activities, creativity, mess, games and plenty of spooky fun. 🕷️🧪🎃

I’ll be sharing more information very soon, including how you can register your interest for the sessions — spaces will be kept very small, just like Summer at the KIT Room. 💚

💚 Another week in the KIT Room complete!

And just like that… another busy week of learning, creating, laughing and confidence building comes to an end! 🙌🏻

This week has been full of different activities across the KIT Room — from Maths and English challenges to practical tasks, games and plenty of those little moments where something suddenly clicks. 💡

One of the things I love most about what we’re building here is that no two sessions ever really look the same. Every child learns differently, and being able to adapt sessions around the children in front of me is exactly what the KIT Room is all about👏🏻🤞🏻

Whether that means getting up and moving, turning something into a game, using their interests, slowing things right down or simply giving them the confidence to have a go — there’s always another way to approach learning. 😊

A massive well done to each and every one of our little KIT student family!

And as always, a huge thank you to all of the families who continue to support Tutor With Nick, recommend me to others and trust me to be part of their child’s journey. It genuinely means so much. 🙌🏻💚

💚 Another week in the KIT Room! 📚✨

What a lovely week it’s been!

Lots of learning, plenty of laughter, confidence building and some really proud moments across our sessions! 🙌🏻

It’s also been a particularly exciting week as we welcomed a few new students into our little KIT support family💚

One of my favourite things about the KIT Room is watching children settle in, find their feet and realise that learning doesn’t have to feel overwhelming or scary. It can be calm, fun, practical and something they can actually enjoy.

A huge well done to all of the children this week — whether you’ve been with me for a while or this was your very first session, you’ve all put in some brilliant effort! 👏🏻👏🏻

And a big thank you, as always, to the families who continue to trust me with their children’s learning journeys. It genuinely means so much. 💚

💚 What a week at the KIT Room! 📚

The first week back after the summer holidays is always a funny one… but what a lovely way to start the new academic year!

This week has seen the return of my existing students, getting back into routines, settling back into learning and hearing all about what they’ve been up to over the summer. 😊

I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting three new families who are looking at potentially joining me for support, which has been really exciting and a lovely reminder of how much the KIT Room has grown.

And honestly… a massive thank you to everyone who has supported Tutor With Nick recently!🥹

Whether you’ve recommended me to another family, shared a post, sent me a lovely message, trusted me with your child, or simply followed along with what I’m building here — it genuinely means so much.

When I started Tutor With Nick, I had a little idea of creating a space where children could learn in a way that felt calm, supportive, enjoyable and confidence-building.

Seeing the KIT Room become exactly that, and continuing to welcome more children and families through the door, is something I’m incredibly proud of.

So… September is officially underway! 🎉…

And if you’re a parent who’s been wondering whether there might be a different way to support your child through their learning journey, I’m always happy to have a chat. 💚

A busy little Friday at the KIT Room! 💚

This morning started with a really lovely 1:1 home education session, where we worked across two very different areas of learning — fractions in Maths, alongside revisiting nouns, verbs and adjectives in English.

And that’s one of the things I really enjoy about home education support. We don’t have to worry about where a topic might traditionally “sit” within a particular year group or when a child is supposed to have mastered it.

Instead, we can work from where the child is right now.

If they’re ready to explore something more challenging in Maths, we can. If there’s an important foundation in English that needs revisiting, we can spend time strengthening that too — without either one being viewed as being “ahead” or “behind”.

There’s much less pressure to race through a curriculum in a particular order, and much more opportunity to build learning around understanding, confidence and the individual child. 😊

After that, I welcomed a new potential family into the KIT Room to have a look around and get a feel for the space, and this afternoon I’m meeting another new family to chat about the support they’re looking for.

And somewhere amongst all of that… September admin! 😂📚

I’m currently preparing and sending out invoices, confirming sessions and getting everything organised as we get ready to begin a brand-new academic term.

📚 September admin is officially underway at Tutor With Nick! ✏️

With the new academic year just around the corner, I’m currently working through all of the behind-the-scenes organisation ready to welcome everyone back to the KIT Room. 😊

Over the next few days, current families will begin receiving messages and emails from me to confirm:

* September session days and times
* Group placements
* Any changes to availability
* Updated payment information
* Individual balances and invoices

I’m also introducing a slightly more organised monthly payment system from September, simply to make everything clearer and easier to keep track of for both families and myself. There is no change to session prices, and any existing credit on accounts will carry over as normal.

If you’re already confirmed to return in September, please keep an eye on your inbox/WhatsApp over the next few days. 📩

And if you’re a new family considering support for the new academic year, I do still have some limited availability across small-group and 1:1 sessions, so please feel free to get in touch.

It feels very strange to already be preparing for September… but I’m really excited for another year of learning, confidence-building and creativity at the KIT Room! 💚

📚 September at the KIT Room! ✏️

With the new term just around the corner, I’m starting to get everything organised for September and wanted to share my current small-group timetable with families. 😊

A few important things to note:

✨ The year-group sessions shown are based around the families and children I’m already supporting, which is why you may notice more than one session for the same year group.

✨ I also have two OPEN small-group slots currently available:

Wednesday 5:30pm–6:30pm
Friday 5:30pm–6:30pm

These have intentionally been left open so that, if there is interest from a particular year group and the time suits, I can create a new group around them.

All of my groups are kept deliberately small, with a maximum of 4 children, allowing me to provide plenty of individual support while still giving children the confidence and enjoyment that can come from learning alongside others.

My sessions focus on building strong foundations in Maths and English, but just as importantly, helping children develop confidence, independence and a more positive relationship with learning. 💚

There are also a small number of spaces remaining within some of my existing September groups, as shown on the timetable.

If you’re looking for support for your child this academic year — whether they’re struggling with confidence, need some extra help keeping up, or would simply benefit from a small, supportive learning environment — please feel free to get in touch.

☀️ Summer at the KIT Room ☀️

What a brilliant start to our new summer sessions! 🙌🏻💚

We tried something different inside the KIT Room… and I absolutely loved it!

From designing and sculpting our own clay creatures and building their habitats, to becoming junior scientists with lava lamps, Skittles experiments, Mentos & Coke and the egg-drop challenge, we have thrown themselves into everything with so much creativity, curiosity and confidence.

These sessions were never meant to feel like traditional tutoring. The idea behind Summer at the KIT Room was to create a small, welcoming space where children could make, explore, build, discover and have fun together — and I think these first sessions have captured exactly that. 😊

👀 A little sneak peek into tomorrow’s first Summer at the KIT Room session… 🎨🐉

The resources are coming together ready for our Creature Laboratory, where the children will be inventing their own completely unique species, sculpting them from clay and building a habitat for them to live in!

I’m genuinely so excited to get started and see what strange, colourful and imaginative creatures are created tomorrow. There is no “right” way to do it — the whole session is about experimenting, being creative and making something they can feel proud to take home. 😊

This is the first time I’ve run something like this at the KIT Room, so I’ll be learning and creating alongside them too… which feels very fitting!

Tomorrow’s mission:

🐉 Bring a brand-new species to life!
