🌿 Gardening Update from The Link AP
At The Link, gardening is more than just growing vegetables — it's about growth in every sense. 🌱
Our pupils have been working hard in the garden this term, turning their final crop of tomatoes into delicious homemade passata, now frozen in handy cubes for future meals. 🍅❄️
The squashes are curing in the sunshine, and the pumpkins are thriving — just in time for some autumn carving next month. 🎃
Along the way, pupils have been:
✨ Saving tomato seeds for next year's planting
🌻 Growing sunflowers for seed harvesting
🌿 Learning about sustainable methods like ‘no dig’ gardening, preparing weed-covered beds for fertile, healthy soil in spring
For many of our young people, this is more than a project — it's a chance to discover new interests, build confidence, and find purpose through hands-on learning.
Alternative provision means learning differently — and sometimes, that’s exactly what’s needed to spark a passion. 💚
