📣 Please Support Nurseries 📣
Many nurseries are already under extreme financial pressure. From April 2026, changes to business rates are expected to lead to increases of over 65 percent for some early years settings. This is simply not sustainable and risks forcing nurseries to reduce services or close altogether.
Nurseries are essential educational settings, yet unlike schools, we are still treated as commercial businesses when it comes to business rates.
There is a UK Parliament petition calling on the government to stop charging nurseries business rates and recognise early years as education.
