🩷 WELCOME BACK TO MUNCHIES! 🩷

We hope everyone had a lovely summer break! β˜€οΈ We’re so excited to welcome all of our children and families back to Munchies for another fun-filled school year! πŸ₯°

A big welcome to all of our new children and families joining us too β€” we hope you all settle in quickly and enjoy being part of the Munchies family! 🩷

πŸ” A little reminder about collection passwords:
When registering your child with Munchies, you will have chosen a collection password. Please make sure that parents/carers β€” and anyone else who may be collecting your child β€” knows this password, as our staff may ask for it at collection.

If you can’t remember your password or need any help with it, please just speak to a member of the Munchies team and we’ll be happy to help. 😊

Here’s to another year of fun, laughter, crafts, games and plenty of Munchies madness! πŸ˜‚πŸ©·

Welcome back everyone! πŸ₯°

🌞 That’s a wrap for another fantastic school year! 🌞

As another amazing year at Munchies Breakfast & After School Club comes to an end, we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful children, parents and carers for your continued support.

We’ve loved spending each morning and afternoon with your amazing children, making memories through games, crafts, laughter, adventures and plenty of fun along the way. Watching them grow in confidence, make new friendships and enjoy every session has been a real privilege.

β˜€οΈ Hot Weather Update for Parents β˜€οΈ

With the warm weather continuing, the health, safety and wellbeing of the children at Munchies Breakfast & After School Club remains our highest priority.

To help keep everyone safe and comfortable, we will be taking extra precautions during our sessions, including:

πŸ’§ Frequent water breaks and encouraging children to drink plenty of fluids
🌳 Making use of shaded areas whenever possible
πŸƒ Minimal running around and high-energy outdoor activities
⚽ No football sessions during the current heatwave
😎 Regular checks to ensure children are comfortable and coping well in the heat

Please ensure your child arrives with a named water bottle and is dressed appropriately for the weather. If your child would benefit from a sun hat, please send one along too.

Thank you for your continued support. We are committed to providing a safe, fun and enjoyable environment for all children while temperatures remain high.

Stay cool and stay hydrated! β˜€οΈπŸ’™

πŸŒŠπŸ’™ Save Our Oceans Day πŸ’™πŸŒŠ

Today we are celebrating Save Our Oceans Day and learning how we can all help protect our beautiful seas and the amazing creatures that live in them! 🐠🐒🐳

πŸ’‘ Here are some ideas the children gave us today to help save our oceans:

πŸ—‘οΈ Put rubbish in the bin and help pick up litter when you see it.
♻️ Recycle plastic, paper, and cans whenever possible.
🚰 Use a reusable water bottle instead of single-use plastic bottles.
πŸ›οΈ Take reusable shopping bags when you go shopping.
🐒 Be kind to wildlife and never leave litter behind at the beach or park.
πŸ’§ Turn off taps when brushing your teeth to help save water.

Every small action makes a BIG difference! Together, we can help keep our oceans clean, healthy, and full of life for future generations. πŸŒŽπŸ’™

πŸ“ πŸ“ Parents and carers please take a look and complete this survey on behalf of AfC - early years πŸ“πŸ“

Parents and Carers - An opportunity to help us understand your childcare needs and how we can develop the local childcare sector to meet them

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfyhsaIqt_-ur4X3N3rLzGcuftWGSnvzAiIbFBPn001WrPRaw/viewform?usp=header

Every year councils have to report on childcare in their area to ensure they are meeting the needs of families and their children. In Kingston and Richmond the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment report is produced by Achieving for Children, who provide children’s services for Kingston and Richmond councils.

To build a clear picture of childcare (for both early years and School age children) across our area, and how well it meets the needs of local families, we are asking parents and carers who either currently use childcare or need to use childcare to complete our Parents and Family Childcare Survey - this survey is anonymous.

Your feedback will help us understand what is working well, identify any gaps and inform how we can better support families and develop local childcare provision.
Parents and carers: please spend time completing this annual survey and share your views and childcare needs - your contribution is extremely valuable and we hope to receive a wide range of responses representing the needs of all families.

The survey outcomes will be included in our annual Childcare Sufficiency Assessments which are published each Autumn and also shared with the Department of Education. You can view our last year's report here: https://kr.afcinfo.org.uk/pages/community-information/information-and-advice/family-information-service-and-childcare-search/childcare-sufficiency-assessment-csa
