Thank you PTFA 💙🙌
It's finally good weather to wash all the school lost property today so I can fill the rail back up this week.
At Lutley Primary, our core values of ‘Learning, Caring, Aiming High-Together’ are at the heart of everything we do.
These values are not just words; they are lived and breathed by our pupils, staff, and the wider community every day.

💻🛡️ Keeping Children Safe Online 🛡️💻
At Lutley Primary School, we are committed to helping our pupils develop the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe in an increasingly digital world.
As technology continues to play an important role in children’s lives, it is vital that schools and families work together to promote safe and responsible online behaviour. This week, we are sharing some helpful guidance for parents and carers, including information about privacy settings and the SMART rules for staying safe online.
The SMART rules encourage children to:
🔒 SAFE – Keep personal information private.
👥 MEET – Never meet online contacts without parental permission and supervision.
📩 ACCEPTING – Be cautious when opening messages, files or links.
✔️ RELIABLE – Think critically about what you see and read online.
🗣️ TELL – Speak to a trusted adult if something online makes you feel worried or uncomfortable.
We have also included guidance on managing privacy settings and parental controls on devices, helping families create a safer online environment at home.
Online safety is everyone’s responsibility, and regular conversations between children and trusted adults remain one of the most effective ways to keep young people safe online.
Please take a few moments to look through the information shared and discuss it with your child.

🌳🏛️ Year 3 Explore Local History at Leasowes Park 🏛️🌳
Year 3 enjoyed a fascinating and memorable visit to Leasowes Park this week, bringing their local history learning to life through first-hand experiences beyond the classroom.
During a guided tour of the park, the children stepped back in time to discover how William Shenstone transformed the landscape into one of England’s most celebrated eighteenth-century gardens. Seeing these historic features in person helped the children deepen their understanding of the area’s rich heritage in a way that simply cannot be replicated in the classroom.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to connect with the history of their local community, observe historical landmarks first-hand and ask questions to develop their understanding further. The children listened carefully to stories about the park’s past and were excited to spot many of the features that still remain today.
Year 3 represented Lutley brilliantly throughout the day, demonstrating curiosity, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour. Their thoughtful questions and engagement showed just how much they gained from the experience.
At Lutley, we are passionate about providing memorable enrichment opportunities that enhance learning, and this visit was a wonderful example of how local educational experiences can have a lasting impact on children’s understanding and appreciation of the world around them.
Well done, Year 3! 🌟💙

📚⚽ National Year of Reading – Lutley Reading World Cup! ⚽📚
As part of the National Year of Reading, we are excited to launch our next whole-school reading initiative at Lutley Primary School!
Inspired by the excitement of the World Cup, our Reading World Cup aims to promote reading for pleasure, increase pupil engagement with reading and further develop our school’s strong reading culture. Research and guidance from the DfE and Ofsted highlight the importance of fostering a lifelong love of reading, ensuring that children not only learn to read but also choose to read widely and often.
Throughout the initiative, each class will work together to score ‘goals’ by completing a range of exciting reading challenges and activities. Whether it’s sharing a favourite book, exploring a new author, reading in unusual places or recommending books to friends, every goal will help their class move closer to victory!
Each week, the class with the most goals in each year group will receive a special reward, such as:
🌟 Extra Golden Time
📖 Reading time in Tulley’s Garden
🌳 Story time on the field
🎉 Other reading-themed treats and experiences
Most importantly, this initiative is designed to celebrate participation, enthusiasm and enjoyment. We want every child to experience the pleasure of reading, develop positive reading habits and discover the joy that books can bring.
Good luck to all our teams – let the Reading World Cup begin! 📚🏆⚽

💷 HSBC Money Matters at Lutley Primary School 💷
Over the last two weeks, every class at Lutley Primary School has taken part in engaging, real-life money sessions delivered by our long-standing partners at HSBC.
These valuable workshops have helped pupils develop their financial literacy, build confidence in managing money and explore important life skills such as budgeting, saving and making informed financial decisions. Financial education plays a vital role in preparing children for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life, supporting the aims of both the curriculum and PSHE education.
We were delighted to welcome Mrs Victoria Jenkins from HSBC, who visited classes across the school. Victoria said:
“Thank you for inviting me to Lutley Primary School this week. I greatly appreciated the opportunity to visit and was impressed by the warm welcome extended by both students and staff.”
HSBC has been a valued Lutley partner for many years, and we are thrilled to have once again received the HSBC Money Matters Award in recognition of our commitment to developing pupils’ financial understanding.
Thank you to Victoria and HSBC for helping our children become confident, informed and money-wise citizens of the future. 💙
