I spent an hour this morning with a lovely year 11 student. They need a boost ahead of GCSEs in the summer. It was our first session together but I can already see that the biggest challenge is Improving their confidence. When young people don’t get the right support in the classroom their confidence in their ability can suffer. Schools have too many pupils and too few teachers for everyone to get the support they need to reach their academic potential.
