Last week school wide we joined in with no pen day.
Year 5 and 6 were no exception and had a fantastic No Pens Day!
They started with shaving foam handwriting, which was very messy but lots of fun, before taking part in a spelling guessing game and writing words on each other's backs to identify letters and spellings. They also challenged themselves to say their full names backwards and competed head-to-head to see who could say Year 5 and 6 spelling words the fastest.
In English, they created a human timeline of our focus story, acted out freeze-frame scenes and took part in a lively debate about the characters' decisions and whether they would have acted the same way.
In Maths, they practised our times tables and used string to help us work out perimeter.
Then even enjoying fun and games French and Music – with not a pen in sight!
