Hayden has been welcomed back with open arms to the Parks and Environment team, to train on new equipment and expand his skills.

⭐️Intern of the month⭐️

James has been proactive with applications and interviews for a position after the DFN Intern programme has finished. He is putting so much time and effort into his L2 Maths with the hope of passing it before the end of term. He is a well-liked member of the intern group, improving his time keeping by arriving on time every morning, sometimes before anyone else.

He is now completing a rotation which is completely outside his comfort zone but will challenge and stretch him on his social and interaction skills, he is doing really well and embracing this challenge like he has embraced all the previous rotations. Well done, James. We are so proud of you, keep up the great commitment to the programme and improving your skills, it is working!

Well done James!

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding a prom for our learners this year, to celebrate the end of another great academic year but especially to honour the learners that will be leaving us this summer!

We are kindly asking if anyone out there has any dresses or suits hanging in wardrobes that are no longer being used, to please consider donating them to us. Every donation could help someone feel confident and included on such an important night 🪩

If you do, please email [email protected] and we can arrange this ✨

Thank you all!

(Trusted Adults, a letter will be sent home shortly with details of prom for you all ☺️)

The interns participated in a CV writing and Interview Techniques morning, presented by Andrew Hunter, from the National Careers Service. The activity was beneficial to everyone, as our focus over the next week, is to create a strong CV, incorporating the transferable skills that the interns have gained and are continuing to develop new skills in their respective second rotations.

Well done everyone and thank you to Andrew Hunter at the National Careers Service, for visiting DFN Supported Internship Programme!

As part of National Apprenticeship Week Laura Sadler (Careers Development Officer) and Casey Weston (Admin Assistant) came into the Haven to talk to the interns about the North east Lincolnshire Council Apprenticeships. She started with a game of Myth or Fact which the interns found interesting and then gave an insight of the Lincs Apprenticeships that run within the different departments.

The interns asked questions about Apprenticeship hours and wage which Laura clarified for everyone.

Thankyou Laura and Casey for taking the time to explain this to our interns!
