Have you thought about becoming a licensed Taxi Driver? 🚖

If you drive, are currently unemployed or looking for a change of career, our FREE Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP), delivered in partnership with GetAway Cars York, gives you everything you need to take your first step towards driving professionally.

During the programme, you’ll build knowledge in communication and customer service, as well as develop the skills you need to successfully prepare for both the driving assessment and the knowledge test.

✅ Two days per week for five weeks
✅ Course starts Tuesday 17 March
✅ Ideal for anyone interested in becoming a licensed taxi driver in York

The TEC Partnership is delighted to announce our nominations as finalists in the Education North Awards 2026. Demonstrating the breadth of our students’ and staff’s achievements we are finalists in five categories this year.

Our outstanding University Centre Grimsby student Zoe Eaton is a finalist in the University Student of the Year category; TEC Partnership are finalists in the Digital & AI Innovation Award – Making the Real Virtual & the Virtual Real; in the Business Engagement Award TEC Partnership, NET, Integrated Care Board WAD Programme are finalists for Creating Pathways into NHS Employment through Collaborative Partnerships and Sector Skills Training; our Creative Arts team are finalists in the Heart Creative Arts Award; and finally our Skills Bootcamp campaign is a finalist in the Campaign of the Year category.

We are proud of our position at the leading edge of teaching and innovation for all of our students at all levels. Our amazing teaching and support teams make this magic happen every day at our campuses across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. We can’t wait for awards night!

MNX, National Employer Training (NET) and Jobcentre Plus have been working together throughout 2025–26 to deliver a Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) helping local jobseekers start careers in specialist security support, including vital roles supporting operations at Butlin’s.

The programme led to 20 learners progressing into job outcomes this year, showing the real impact of employer-led training and demand for opportunity.
