Morning zands family sorry that we have been quiet it’s bin really busy with us hot weather trying to make sure the animals are all ok and comfortable.

Little update the on the duck eggs from the last post we had 14 hatch out of 26 we would have had more but some just wasn’t strong enough to get out the the egg but we have dropped down to 10 as some as they grew developed problems but the 10 we have left are now down the farm living there best life running around with some other ducks we picked up.

We set some chicken eggs in the incubator around 8 which were due to hatch tomorrow but hatched yesterday only 3 hatched as the incubator stopped turning them so was having to turn them which can be a problem if you don’t turn them right or enough.

I will add the little pen the ducks are in below is when they was at home they are now in a 4 metre by 9 meter pen

Well another great visit from Stockman In Demand on Saturday to come shear the sheep top quality service again and with some fantastic advice look forward to next years shearing as it’s always nice to see the sheep looking clean.

Also was amazing to here that Jason got gold in the shearing competitions we never doubted you we knew you would get it keep up the great work

Well Zands family our first lambs are here they was born Wednesday morning it was a very slow labour for the ewe she started showing signs of labour at 5.30am and the lambs where born at just before 8am set of lovely strong twins boy and a girl.

It was a birth we had to assist as when the ewe started pushed she was struggling a little with the first lamb, the second lamb had to be assisted aswell as when we checked the ewe to see where the second lamb was we discover it was coming with a leg tucked back but after a little manual adjustment of getting the lamb in the right position it was soon born but again lovely strong lambs as within 5 minutes of being born they was up on their feed and straight on the feed we can’t ask for better
