One of the hardest parts of being a childminder is saying goodbye. This week, it starts....

After caring for children for so many years, watching them grow from tiny toddlers into confident, independent little people, it’s never easy to see them move on. Every cuddle, milestone, laugh, story, and memory becomes part of your journey too.

People often say, “You’ll get used to it,” but the truth is… you never do. Each goodbye is just as emotional as the last because every child leaves a lasting place in your heart.

It has been such a privilege to be part of your lives, to watch you learn, grow, and flourish. I am so proud of everything you’ve achieved a
nd know you’ll go on to do amazing things.

Thank you to all the wonderful families who have trusted me with your precious children over the years. Your support and kindness mean more than you’ll ever know.

Wishing all my little ones the very best on their next adventure 💕

It's been all about the World Cup today. From making flags to playing ball games, trying different foods and dancing around to some National Athems and football songs 🎵 we've had a blast!

⚽️Understanding the World – People, Culture and Communities

Explore countries taking part in the World Cup.
We looked at flags, traditional clothing, and we tried different food and landmarks from different nations.

⚽️Mathematics
Counted goals scored.
Compare scores using more than, less than and equal to.

⚽️Physical Development
Dribbling footballs around cones.
Kicking and aiming games.
Team relay races

⚽️Expressive Arts and Design
Make flags and bunting.
Design football kits.
Create stadiums using construction materials.

Lovely morning at the beach today ☀️ we are so lucky to live so close to the coast.

🏖Communication and Language

Talked about what they could see, hear, smell, and feel at the beach.
Asked questions and shared ideas with adults and peers.
Learned and used new vocabulary related to the seaside, such as "waves," "shells," "sand," and "tide."

🏖Physical Development

Developed gross motor skills through walking on sand, climbing, digging, and carrying buckets.
Improved fine motor skills by collecting shells, building sandcastles, and using tools.

🏖Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Built confidence in a new environment.
Took turns, shared resources, and cooperated with friends during play.
Followed safety instructions and developed awareness of risks near water.

🏖Literacy

Listened to and discussed stories, signs, and information about the beach.
Made marks in the sand and shared experiences through drawing and early writing.

Today we've visited the Art Gallery over in Liverpool. We had a lovely time walking around the different exhibitions and finding animals hiding in some of the paintings.

🌟 Expressive Arts and Design (EAD)

Exploring colour, texture, shape through observing artwork.
Talked about what they notice, like or dislike in paintings and sculptures.
Experimented with different media and techniques inspired by artists’ work.
Created their own artwork using observed styles or materials.

We have learnt and used new vocabulary such as “portrait”, “sculpture”, “gallery”, “texture”, “abstract”.
Asked questions about artworks and artists and described what they can see.

🌟 Physical Development

Developed our fine motor skills through sketching, painting, collage or sculpting activities after the visit.
Used tools such as pencils, brushes and scissors safely.

Being a childminder is so much more than a job to me ❤️

I get to watch little personalities grow, celebrate milestones big and small, comfort cuddles when they’re needed, and help children feel safe, loved, and confident every single day.
No two days are ever the same — they’re filled with laughter, learning, messy play, funny conversations, and so many special moments that make my heart full.

To be trusted by families to care for their children is something I never take for granted, and I feel incredibly lucky to do a job I truly love.
