🥁 MEET YOUR TEACHER 🥁

Jacob began drumming over 25 years ago at the age of 10. He went on to study at Guildford’s Academy of Contemporary Music, graduating with a BA Honours Degree. He spent the following three years travelling around the world on cruise ships, working his way up to Musical Director; performing in show bands, cabarets, jazz and party bands. This provided him with a robust foundation of playing many styles and genres of music, being required to sight read many different shows.

Since then, Jacob has worked on many UK Touring Theatre Productions, including Jersey Boys, Calendar's Girl The Musical, Waitress, Heathers, Nativity The Musical, Hairspray, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Take That & Tim Firth's: The Band. He enjoys spending December time working in the pit on various pantomime productions. Jacob also performs for various wedding bands and tribute shows, including Licence To Ceilidh, Super Grouse, Frankie’s Guys and many more.

More recently, in 2024, Jacob drummed on stage for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing performers on their solo UK & Ireland tours, working with Anton Du Beke, Giovanni Pernice and Lauren Oakley in ‘Together’ and ‘Let Me Entertain You’.

In 2025, Jacob relished backing Pop Idol’s Gareth Gates for his UK tours ‘Love Songs From The Movies’ and ‘Gareth Gates Sings Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons’.

As well as performing Jacob enjoys sharing his passion for music and the drums. Having taught privately and in schools for over 10 years, he has a breadth of experience with all ages and abilities. Whether you are looking to study grades and music theory, work on technique, or learn your favourite songs on the drums, Jacob will tailor lessons accordingly; focussing on a fun, engaging and friendly atmosphere. Lessons can be as formal or relaxed as they want to be, depending on an individual’s needs and aspirations. Jacob is DBS checked and available to teach at home or travel to students with suitable set ups.
