Guru Arjan Dev Ji (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ)

* The 5th Guru of Sikhism.

Major Contributions

* Compiled the first version of the Adi Granth in 1604.
* Oversaw the completion of Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple).
* Encouraged equality, selfless service (seva), and devotion to God.
* Wrote many hymns that are included in Shri Guru Granth Sahib, including the well-known Sukhmani Sahib.

Martyrdom (Shaheedi)

* 30 May 1606
* Lahore
* Guru Arjan Dev Ji became the first Sikh Guru to attain martyrdom (Shaheedi) after refusing to alter Sikh teachings or compromise their faith. Their sacrifice is remembered as a symbol of courage, faith, and standing for truth.

ਪਿਆਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ

ਗੁਰਪੁਰਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਖ-ਲੱਖ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ,

ਅੱਜ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ, ਸੱਚਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਫ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਸਿਖਾਇਆ। ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
