Sherborne Summer School of Music was founded in 1952 as the Canford Summer School of Music.

2 of the players from this year's Wind Ensemble Course at Sherborne Summer School of Music have sadly had to withdraw due to ill health so we need to find replacement players.

If you are a tenor sax or bassoon player, aged 18 or older, and at least grade 8 standard then you may be eligible for a free place.
The dates of the course are 2-9 August and it takes place at Sherborne Boys School in Dorset. It will be a great week of high standard music making, amongst friends, old and new.

There are just 2 clarinet places remaining on this year's Sherborne Wind Ensemble Course (2-9 August). Great week of music making at a high standard (all players are G8+ standard) - challenging repertoire, international conductors, 3 concerts to be given during the week. Bursary available for suitably qualified players.

The Lighter Side Choral Course will be taking place at Sherborne Summer School of Music from 9-16 August. It's not necessarily a choir for the shy and retiring, but is always a lot of fun. The music list looks great too (I'm very much looking forward to hearing 'This pie's too big' from Potato Music by Turner, plus lots of other interesting pieces).

9-16 August SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA directed by Philip Ellis

You will get individual help to build and develop your creative and technical skills through practical experience and performance. Composers of all ages and standards are welcome. Sherborne Summer School of Music has a fantastic week for choral conductors of all levels of experience. 'The Art of Choral Conducting' course takes place from 9-16 August. It's directed by the dynamic and much in demand Amy Bebbington, the Director of Training for ABCD.
