Congratulations to our Year 11 pupils on their excellent GCSE results published today 🎉

We gathered at School this morning with pupils and parents to celebrate with our 5th Form as they transition to their A levels and BTEC/Level 3 Studies.

Overall 45% of exams taken were graded at 9-7 (equivalent to A*-A), with 66% graded at 9-6 (A*-B). 30% of the GCSE Class of 2026 gained at least 6 grades of 9-7. In 5 departments - Biology, Chemistry, Latin, Music and Physics - at least 80% of entries received grade 9-7.

We wish all of our pupils who received their results today the very best for their next steps in 6th Form!

Some evenings deserve to be remembered.

In the heart of the City of London, beneath the candlelit arches of the historic Guildhall Crypts, our Sixth Form Leavers shared one final celebration with their families and staff before the next chapter begins.

An evening of laughter, reflection and shared memories, it was a fitting way to honour a remarkable year group. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved, the friendships they've built and the kindness, character and ambition they've brought to our community.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. Here's to everything that comes next—and wherever your journey takes you, you'll always be part of the King Edward's story. 💙

There is something rather special about Speech Day at King Edward’s.

A celebration of achievement, ambition and community.

A final dot of the quill 🪶

Just as our annual Admissions Day Service marks an important milestone at the beginning of every School journey at King Edward’s, so the Gaudy Service marks an important final dot of the quill; a formal celebration of the journeys and achievements of all our departing Upper Sixth pupils.

For some the next chapter begins with university or an exciting apprenticeship, for others vocational training, a gap year or a well informed leap directly into the world of work. Whichever path, all are destined for great things, equipped with strong principles and values which will shape their lives ahead.

Class of 2026, we are incredibly proud of the each and every one of you and look forward to welcoming you back as our newest alumni very soon.

🏆 Congratulations to EDWARD HOUSE, winners of the C**k House Cup 2026!

Perhaps the most hotly contested competition of the year, this cup represents individual and collective excellence across all areas of School life. House events including Drama, Sport and Music competitions all attract C**k House points, as does going above and beyond through exceptional work, effort and citizenship.

This win marked a hat-trick for Edward House and a brilliant finale to a splendid 10 years as housemaster for Mr Tobias supported, as always, by the wonderful Mrs T.

The House system at KESW promotes a strong sense of belonging for every pupil. As a full, weekly or flexi boarder, or as a day pupil, our supportive houses are at heart of School life, where lifelong friendships are made, opportunities are explored and where every pupil is valued for who they are.
