Prior's Field School GSA Girls' Boarding & Day School 11–18. Prior’s Field is a vibrant and successful school with a fascinating history. In 1902 she realised her dream.

Nestled within 42 acres of stunning Surrey countryside, we feel hundreds of miles away from the hustle and bustle of London, but can actually be in the city within forty minutes. Our safe, tranquil setting is home to a school with a difference, a place where individuality is celebrated and uniqueness embraced: a happy, positive environment, where the girls enjoy learning. Our founder, Julia Huxley, was an inspirational teacher with pioneering ideas about the education of young women in Edwardian England. Prior’s Field was established as a progressive school which stimulated its pupils intellectually and broadened their cultural horizons. Her bold spirit and legacy of successful innovation continue to shape our work today. This is the route to high achievement that Prior’s Field offers: high expectations and plenty of ambition within an environment that provides both a springboard for success and a safety net. At the end of their time with us girls will have done very well academically, but it is their experience of school life that will have made all the difference. As they complete their journey, we take great pride in the young women they have become: well balanced, thoughtful of others and fully prepared for the next stage of life. They go on to a broad range of universities to study courses which reflect the independence, diversity and intellectual acumen we have supported. They have a confident belief in shaping their own futures.

From sporting determination and musical performances to creative achievements and inspiring conversations, here is a glimpse of this week at Prior’s Field. 🩷

🏃‍♀️ Cross Country brought plenty of determination and team spirit, with students supporting one another through the rain.

🎶 Ms Ireland, Miss Price, Rachel, Carys and Lottie visited Barfield Prep School for an assembly celebrating Admiration, Hope and Love through musical performances and a Boomwhacker orchestra.

🧵 Incredible work by Old Girls Gemma, Ellie and Georgie is now on display at Godalming Museum, showcasing sustainable fashion, innovative textile techniques and ambitious design.

🤸‍♀️ Our Under 13 gymnastics team placed seventh overall at the Surrey Tumbling Competition, making an encouraging start to the season.

🧩 GCSE Computer Science students explored algorithms by following a sequence of steps to solve Rubik’s cubes.

🏅 Our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award assembly celebrated students’ achievements and gave them the chance to share their experiences, including residential placements.

🎤 Our A Ca****la Choir performed at the Age UK Colour Run at Loseley Park on Sunday 4 October.

✨ Our Academic Scholars’ Dinner brought scholars, families and guests together for an evening of inspiring talks, conversation and celebration.

🎨We are delighted to confirm our partnership with UCA, giving our students exciting opportunities to develop their talents and pursue careers in the creative arts.

We’re delighted to announce a three-year partnership between Prior’s Field School and the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in Farnham, connecting our girls’ creative talents with opportunities in higher education and industry.

Running until July 2029, the partnership recognises Prior’s Field as a UCA Partner School. Together, we will develop a bespoke programme reflecting our pupils’ interests and ambitions.

Opportunities include:

🎨 Creative workshops and portfolio development
🎓 University tasters, facility tours and application support
💡 Industry talks, mentoring and creative challenges
🖼️ Support for exhibitions and major projects

Eligible Prior’s Field students who go on to enrol at UCA will also be able to receive a £500 UCA Partnership Scholarship.

Gemma Curtin, Head of Creative Arts and Cocurricular Lead, said:
“There is a real alignment between UCA’s approach and our own vision for creative arts education at Prior’s Field: ambitious, forward-thinking and closely connected to the creative industries. I’m very excited to see the partnership develop and to explore the many opportunities for collaboration ahead.”

A week of sporting success, creative expression and music at Prior’s Field! 🩷

Our senior netball team fought back from a six goal deficit to become Cup champions, with Ava O named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player! 🏆

A packed Recital Room enjoyed Classics by Candlelight, with our musicians performing everything from Brahms and jazz to musical theatre and Lady Gaga. 🎶

Families joined us on Thursday to explore subjects and opportunities, meet our teachers and hear directly from students about Sixth Form life at Prior’s Field.🩵

After working hard to earn her place on the team, Moles proudly brought home a silver medal as her team finished second overall at the Challenge Bronze Cup competition. 🥈

Our students are enjoying Colour Chemistry today, exploring the science behind colour and seeing their classroom learning in a new light.🧪

Fourth Form and Lower Sixth Art students gathered inspiration at Pallant House Gallery before sketching the sea, changing skies and coastal textures at West Wittering Beach.🌊

Our Fifth Form GCSE Geography students headed to Snowdonia to explore and develop their fieldwork skills beyond the classroom.⛰️

Students experimented with paper during a textiles workshop, exploring how an everyday material can become something creative. 🌱

Old Girl Helena Traill encouraged Fifth Form students to think big, painting on large canvases and expressing themselves through bold artwork.🎨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Open Day on Saturday! It was lovely to welcome so many families, and we hope you enjoyed exploring our grounds, meeting our staff and hearing from the students who know Prior’s Field best. 💫

Admiration, Hope and Love are at the heart of life here. We hope you caught a glimpse of those values in the way our students support one another, embrace new opportunities and take pride in their school.
