Good morning,

With another hot day installed, lessons are currently going ahead as planned!

I will be keeping a close eye on the temp inside the car and overall how im coping, heat stroke and heat exhaustion isnt the one!

AC can only do to much before it slowly drains more fuel then normal in turn draining my bank balance!

I would like to thank all my current students for being so understanding as of late! It means a lot!

On April 2nd I was rear ended during a driving lesson 😖 this resulted in one dislocated shoulder and a tiny crack in the vertabrea in my neck 🏥. No leaners were injured in the process!

After 3 days off I was back to work in what can only be described as a horrible little Peugeot while my car was in the garage 🛠

My insurance company decided to write my honda off and as of 1st May take there car back!

Some good news at last! I have a new car which was delivered today and will be ready for lessons from 13th May!

Massive sorry for being inconsistent and cancelling lessons last minute due to this saga but normal service resumes from the 13th!

Ps I have some rare availability for lessons during the week day 😉

🚨🚨🚨The DVSA have announced new rules regarding booking driving tests, starting from tomorrow!🚨🚨🚨

**** Important message for parents, learners and everyone in-between ****

More learners and parents are being targeted by individuals offering “cheap lessons” without being legally qualified to teach. As a fully qualified ADI, I want to make sure you know exactly what to look for — and how to stay safe.

Only TWO types of instructors are legally allowed to charge for lessons:

✅ PDI (Pink Badge) – A trainee instructor who has passed Parts 1 & 2 and is being supervised while completing Part 3.✅ ADI (Green Badge) – A fully qualified instructor who has passed all three DVSA tests.

These badges must be displayed in the windscreen during every lesson.

Anyone teaching for payment without one of these badges is breaking the law.

The 3 DVSA Qualification Tests

1️⃣ Part 1 – Theory & Hazard Perception. A detailed test covering road law, driving theory, and hazard awareness.

2️⃣ Part 2 – Advanced Driving Test. A high‑standard driving assessment where instructors must demonstrate safe, consistent, and professional driving. After completing part 1 & part 2 a trainee licence (pink badge) can be granted to enable a trainee instructor (PDI) to teach for money to help gain experience for part 3.

3️⃣ Part 3 – Instructional Ability Test. A practical test assessing lesson planning, risk management, coaching skills, and teaching quality.

Only after passing all three does someone become a fully qualified ADI.

Enhanced DBS Check – Mandatory for ALL PDIs & ADIs

Every legitimate instructor must complete an enhanced DBS check through the DVSA. If someone cannot prove their status, they may not have been vetted.

Correct Driving School Insurance – Essential

A real instructor must have:
• Specialist tuition insurance
• Cover for learner drivers
• Public liability and professional indemnity cover

Standard car insurance is NOT valid for paid lessons.

🚗 Motorway Lessons – ADIs Only

Only a fully qualified ADI is legally permitted to deliver motorway lessons, and only in a dual‑controlled car. If someone offers motorway training without meeting these requirements, avoid them immediately.

How to Protect Yourself

- Ask to see their ADI or PDI badge🔍
- Check their name on the official DVSA register🔍
- Be cautious of “cash‑only” instructors🔍
- Avoid prices that seem too good to be true

Your safety, progress, and confidence matter. Learning with an unqualified instructor can put you at risk, waste your money, and delay your journey to becoming a safe, independent driver.
