On the 2.5 day course the delegates learnt about compressed air safety, air preparation, distribution and then spent time building and testing circuits from drawings, then even modifying and creating their own circuits.

Today, we're celebrating the power of vocational education and the opportunities it creates for learners, employers and the engineering industry.

Apprenticeships provide the chance to earn, learn and develop the practical skills needed for a successful career in engineering. Every day, we're proud to support apprentices as they gain the knowledge, confidence and hands-on experience that will shape the future of manufacturing and engineering.

Jordan's journey is a fantastic example of what vocational education can achieve. At the age of 26, Jordan joined GET in 2019 after being out of education for several years. Since then, he has successfully completed his Level 3 Engineering apprenticeship, followed by an HNC and HND, completing in July 2026.

His story is an inspiration, showing that it's never too late to learn new skills, progress your career or take a new direction. Whether you're leaving school or considering a career change, vocational education can open the door to incredible opportunities.

A huge thank you to our apprentices, employer partners and dedicated staff who make vocational education such a success.

On Friday GET held their annual charity football tournament at Tuffley Rovers Social Club. This year was organised by two first year apprentices, Josh and Victoria. From printing t-shirts to making the trophies, they had it all covered!

This year the apprentices chosen charity was SARA, Severn Area Rescue Association. SARA is a multi-disciplinary volunteer rescue organisation, providing specialised emergency services across the Severn, Wye, and Usk. We work in close partnership with the Coastguard, Police, and Fire & Rescue Services to respond to life-threatening situations on land, water, and cliffs. They rely on donations and grants to fund all the incredible work they do for our local community.  

Before the event, Josh and Victoria shared with their peers information on SARA and why this charity was chosen. So far they have raised over £500. Great afternoon had by all learners and GET team!

Enginuity, in partnership with The Welding Institute, is launching WeldingWeek26  from 6–10 July 2026 to celebrate all things welding! 

At GET, we're proud to support the next generation of skilled welders through apprenticeship training, helping learners develop the knowledge, confidence and hands on experience needed for a successful career in engineering. 

Welding is a career that combines technical expertise, problem-solving and craftsmanship to create the products and infrastructure we rely on every day. 

GET deliver the Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship, as well as a range of commercial welding and fabrication short courses to support individuals and employers in developing their skills.

Today we welcomed 11 students from Cheltenham Bournside School to GET for an exciting introduction to engineering apprenticeships and life at GET.

The students began the day by learning about the opportunities available through apprenticeships before being taken on a workshop tour, led by our current apprentices, who shared their own experiences and answered questions about their journey.

They then put their teamwork and creativity skills to the test in a LEGO design and build challenge, with entries judged by Derek, Stu and Gerard. There were some fantastic ideas and great final builds!

To round off the visit, the students took part in mock interviews, with our first year apprentices stepping into the interviewer's seat. This was a brilliant opportunity for the students to gain valuable interview experience while allowing our apprentices to develop their own communication and leadership skills.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. We hope the visit has inspired the students to consider a future in engineering and apprenticeships!

Today we caught up with Tilly and Victoria, first-year apprentices at Safran Landing Systems, to celebrate Engineering and more importantly, International Women in Engineering Day.

It was inspiring to hear about their experiences so far in what has traditionally been a male-dominated industry that is rapidly becoming more diverse and inclusive.

🏹 Congratulations to GET-sponsored athlete and apprentice, Emelia Hughes!

We are incredibly proud to support Emelia as she represents Great Britain in archery on the international stage.

Competing at the European Youth Cup in Ruse, Bulgaria, Emelia took part in the Under 21 Women's Recurve category, where she achieved an impressive 14th place qualification out of 52 competitors, ranking as the highest-placed of the three GB women. 

As part of the GB women's team alongside Holly and Nicole, they progressed all the way to the Gold Medal Match, defeating teams from Israel, Ukraine and Russia before narrowly missing out to Germany and returning home with a fantastic Silver Medal. 🥈

Emelia also competed in the individual event and mixed team competition with fellow GB archer Sam Ball. The tournament attracted competitors from over 30 countries and took place across a week of elite international competition.

Speaking about the experience, Emelia said:
"I'm really grateful for the support of GET and my sponsors. Attending these events costs a lot of money, and I wouldn't be able to do it without their support."

We are delighted to play a small part in helping talented young people achieve their goals, both in their careers and in sport.

Good luck to Emelia as she prepares for her next international event, the European Youth Championships in Rome at the end of July. We'll be cheering you on every step of the way!

Congratulations to the first completers of our Beginners Electronics course. During the week they learnt about basic components, circuit theory and soldering practices, as well as using test equipment and calculations to assist with fault finding.

Today we are celebrating Hannah and Henry for their fantastic work on their Workplace Improvement unit. Their innovative idea and excellent project impressed us, so we were delighted to reward their efforts with an Amazon voucher each.
