Yay I’ve managed to edit and upload a podcast episode during the summer holidays!!

I actually recorded this one right at the START of the 6 weeks holidays - and right AFTER a massive panic attack I had in the middle of a coffee shop at the thought of how the hell I was going to juggle work and childcare.

And it's all about this feeling of being rushed. We're all trying to get SO much done in so little time - it's impossible. So why are we doing it to ourselves?! And how do we manage this panicky feeling of not getting everything ticked off our to-do list - especially during the summer holidays when you're lucky if you get to have a wee alone, let alone do 8 hours of work?

The episode starts with an account of the crazy day that sent me spiralling into the aforementioned panic attack - and it involves a floor fitter, the menopause clinic and ANOTHER blocked toilet. (seriously, wtf is wrong with my family?!)

Enjoy! (and don't forget to subscribe to my Substack to get every episode delivered straight to your inbox!) Link in bio xx

For anyone who listened to yesterday's podcsst!!

Totally ballsed up the sound and it was missing loads of good bits! So I've reuploaded it and put the link to watch in my Stories.

Sorry about that! Blaming end of term madness!

Let me know what you think of the episode πŸ‘‡

I honestly don't know what I was thinking... πŸ˜‚

It was a Sunday afternoon, we were frantically painting the lounge before the new floor arrived, and I was trying to keep a six-year-old entertained.

So naturally, I shouted...

"Let's record a podcast together!"

Fast forward 20 minutes and The Pearce Podcast had a name, a strapline, and Eden was telling everyone to "comment down below" as if she'd been on YouTube for years. 🀣

I barely edited it because I didn't have the time this week. But I also couldn't bring myself to cut out Eden's evil little laugh or Dave's completely random comments.

It's definitely NOT a relaxing listen so if you're looking something zen to accompany your morning stroll - I'd give this a miss πŸ˜‚

BUT if you're after raw, messy and totally chaotic - then press play. It's probably the most accurate representation of a Sunday afternoon in the Pearce household you'll ever get...

If you fancy a laugh, the first (and possibly last... ) episode is out tomorrow!

Make sure you're signed up to my Substack to get it delivered straight to your inbox (link in bio)

Normal business content will be back after the summer holidays, but if you're thinking about getting your business seen this autumn, my September slots are now open. Just drop me an email if you'd like to be on the list!

Let me know what you think of our little podcast experiment...and be honest - should we make another one? πŸŽ™

Bloody hell I totally forgot to let you guys know that this was a Live interview yesterday...whoops! 🀣

Luckily there's a replay today so keep an eye on my Stories for the link to watch!

I'm talking to the fabulous Eva from the Chatstack podcast all about businesses, b***s and being grateful to be alive..amongst other things 🀣

And i managed to keep it quite clean with minimal swearing...hurrah!

if you're on Substack, head over and search out Eva Lyndon to catch our recording! πŸŽ™

No podcast today so I'm leaving you with what I was gonna say on it instead...🀣

I'm actually a guest on a fabulous podcast tomorrow, more details to follow if you wanna see (yes, its a video one...) me bumble my way through and undoubtedly make multiple f**k ups.

Keep an eye out later for where you can witness this with your own two eyes πŸ‘€ 🀣

In the meantime - tag the small business bestie who's on your speed dial for those emergency moan-ments when you're running your own (s**t) show!

One of the questions people NEVER actually ask me (but I totally know they're thinking it...) is:

"Do I have to give you all my passwords?"

Absolutely not. πŸ˜…

Truth be told, if I were you, I'd be a bit funny about handing those over too.

The good news is you don't have to!

For things like your Google Business Profile and Meta Business Suite, you just need to add me as an admin. I can do everything I need to do without ever seeing your passwords or personal account.

And if you don't know how to do that - I'll show you to make your life as easy breezy as possible!

I'm thinking of making this a little FAQ series because I reckon there are loads of questions people want to ask but feel a bit daft asking.

Does anyone want to start it off and pop a comment below with what have you always wondered and I'll add it to future FAQ posts? πŸ‘‡

Right...I'm about to embarrass this beauty on the internet!!

People often assume Emily and I do the same job. We really don't.

In fact, we're almost opposite ends of the marketing spectrum but we go together like chocolate and wine. 🍫🍷

Emily lives and breathes social media. She knows what works, what's changing, what's worth your time and what isn't. She's got a proper creative, marketing brain - and she's the one who gets people to stop scrolling.

Me? I'm the one who makes sure people can find you.

I'm all about Google, websites, local SEO, PR, reviews, networking - basically all the bits that help people discover your business after they've stopped scrolling.

You're most likely to find her with an iced coffee in one hand and her phone in the other, capturing her clients doing weird and wonderful things to grow their social media accounts (just give her a follow and you'll see!)

Where as I'm usually at my desk, surrounded by too many notepads and cold cups of coffee muttering stuff to myself like "Right...let's see why you're not showing up on Google." πŸ˜‚

The truth is - businesses need BOTH.

Social media gets people interested in you, without a doubt. Everything else makes sure they can still find you six months later.

BUT! The REAL reason for this post is simply to say thank you πŸ™

Emily is one of the most genuine people I've ever met in business.

She's endlessly positive, champions other small businesses and is the first person to recommend someone else if they're a better fit. And in a world where business can sometimes feel a bit competitive, she's a breath of fresh air.

She's also fun, spontaneous and takes me into THE happiest clothes shops on Earth, persuading me to try on a checked jumpsuit I'd have walked straight past. (And I came home with it - scroll for photographic evidence πŸ˜‚)

So thanks, Em. You're bloody brilliant. ❀️

Now...I've been trying to get her on the podcast to share some social media secrets with us all so here's my highly sophisticated marketing strategy to make it happen.

Like this post if you think she should do it!! I'm counting every Like as a signature on the petition...πŸ˜‚πŸŽ™οΈ

Everyone's talking about the couple who climbed the Empire State Building...

Fair play, they definitely got people's attention!

And it got me thinking - how easy is it for people to notice your business?

Luckily, you don't need a viral stunt to stand out. You just need to make it easy for the right people to find you, remember you and recommend you. And that's where good visibility comes in!

If you're brilliant at what you do but feel like you're the best-kept secret in town, then you need to get your arse up the Empire State building and wave a flag to let everyone know about it. Or - just ring me. πŸ˜‚
