Start of the New Academic Year

We look forward to welcoming all students back to school on Monday 7 September.

As always, the school gates will open at 8:20am, and all students should be in their form rooms by 8:40am. Students will remain with their form groups throughout the day and will take part in a range of activities and sessions designed to prepare them for the year ahead.

Please ensure that your child:

• Wears the correct full school uniform
• Brings an appropriate school bag
• Has all the required school equipment

Students will not need to bring their PE kits on this day.

We would also like to remind parents and carers that school photographs will take place on Thursday 10 September. To ensure the best possible photographs, all students should attend in full school uniform.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming our students back and helping them make a positive and successful start to the new academic year.

Happy last day of term! 🎉

A quick reminder that school finishes early today at 12:25pm.

We are officially closed for the summer break after today and will re-open to all students for the new school term on Monday 7th September 2026.

Our Year 9 Spanish students enjoyed a wonderful day at MariCarmen in Manchester as a reward for their outstanding behaviour and enthusiasm for learning Spanish throughout the year.

Students took part in a hands-on cooking lesson, learnt how to prepare a traditional Spanish dish, and enjoyed a delicious selection of authentic tapas, including tortilla de patatas and churros. The trip was a fantastic opportunity to put their language skills into practice and experience Spanish culture beyond the classroom.

A huge well done to all of our students for representing the school so brilliantly—we hope you had an unforgettable day :)

🌞Warm Weather Update🌞
Due to the continued warm weather forecast, we have made a temporary adjustment to our uniform expectations for tomorrow.

Students may attend school wearing either:
1. Their branded St Philip Howard PE kit, or
2. Their full school uniform without their blazer and tie.
3. Students can wear a combination of them both e.g. a PE branded top and school skirt/trousers.

Whichever option is chosen, we ask that students continue to present themselves smartly and wear appropriate school clothing.
We also encourage all students to bring a refillable water bottle and apply sunscreen before coming to school where appropriate.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we seek to keep students comfortable while maintaining high standards throughout the school day.

We are looking forward to welcoming parents of our new Year 6 pupils who are currently on the SEND Register to our Coffee Morning at St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy – Entrance Visitors Reception Sunlaws Street.
📅 Tuesday 14th July
🕙 10:00am – 11:00am
During the morning, you'll have the opportunity to hear about our SEND provision and meet members of our Learning Support Department.
