This week we had a queen wasp making it's home in our toilet block, so our manager, Jade, who is also a beekeeper, got her beesuit on and removed the hive and the wasp gently from the toilets.
This week we had a queen wasp making its home in our toilet block, so our manager, Jade, who is also a beekeeper, got her bee suit on and removed the hive and the wasp gently from the toilets. The queen bees are quite difficult to see, so needs to have a wee paint spot on their back. The children were all desperate to be queen bees with queen bee spots. They also learned that queens have long bums and walk with a bit of a wiggle, and that they lay up to 2000 eggs PER DAY.

Great news! Stay and Play is going to be running from the 12th May, on Tuesdays. We look forward to seeing new and familiar faces!

Betty/Peter was living in our paddock's pond. Our lovely teacher Karen was trying to revamp the pond and in the process of mucking it out when out popped Betty/Peter.
