Greenbank Woodland Play

Greenbank Woodland Play Woodland Nursery for three to five year olds, in Greenbank Gardens, Mon to Friday 8am -6pm. CC registered.

We are a Forest School Nursery based at Greenbank Gardens. The children spend the majority of their time outside, connecting with nature at their own pace. The playgroup has an indoor base, in the Coach House, used as a drop off, pick up point and occaisional indoor activities. The outdoor base camp is in the Top Paddock, and provides areas for the children to explore at their own pace and stage o

f development, with den building, raised beds, hammocks, stepping stones, mud kitchen, and a sand and water area. In addition there are the woodland walks themselves, where the potential for use is as infinite as the imagination of the pre-schoolers attending!

This week we had a queen wasp making it's home in our toilet block, so our manager, Jade, who is also a beekeeper, got her beesuit on and removed the hive and the wasp gently from the toilets.
This week we had a queen wasp making its home in our toilet block, so our manager, Jade, who is also a beekeeper, got her bee suit on and removed the hive and the wasp gently from the toilets. The queen bees are quite difficult to see, so needs to have a wee paint spot on their back. The children were all desperate to be queen bees with queen bee spots. They also learned that queens have long bums and walk with a bit of a wiggle, and that they lay up to 2000 eggs PER DAY.
