I was brought up in Lewis in the 1980s. A few months ago, at the beginning of 2025 while chatting to my son who is now 28, he recalled this to me.

I spent my student years working at a seaweed factory in the village of Keose on the Island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. During the long shifts there I would regularly stare in the tones of Seaweed that were pilled up to be dried and exported for processing to a Alginates factory in Girvan. When staring at the seaweed in particular Bladder Wrack you could almost imagine small bubble
