Our latest Hub event at NatWest Group on the 28th of May was incredibly inspiring, bringing together a brilliant group of S1 female students alongside the team at NatWest.

From hands-on learning to motivating conversations, the day was packed with impactful moments. It was fantastic to see these future innovators build confidence and discover the massive world of opportunities available to them in Technology.

Year on year, this partnership continues to grow, and we want to say a huge thank you to NatWest Group for your continued collaboration.

We’re looking forward to heading to Imperial College London on the 9th of June. This is an exciting new location for both JPMorganChase and SmartSTEMs as we deliver our next Hub Event in partnership with JPMorganChase.

Young people will take part in hands-on Technology workshops led by the JPMorganChase volunteers, getting the chance to explore and try out real Digital tools and activities. They’ll see how these skills are used in the real world and learn more about the career pathways they can lead to.

It’s all about curiosity, creativity, and discovering what’s possible when you step into STEM.

We are incredibly proud to wrap up the pilot of the Hammermen of Glasgow ‘Forging Futures Project’. Working in close collaboration with The Incorporation of Hammermen of Glasgow, we have spent the last two months connecting the city’s historic trade traditions with the next generation of STEM talent.

The project was about showing young people the real-world impact of Engineering while bridging the gap between historic trade traditions and modern career pathways.

As a fantastic added bonus to wrap up the project, the winning school also got the incredible opportunity to hear from David Mackay, the first Scottish astronaut to pilot a spacecraft into space.

Huge congratulations to our winners:
Winning School: St Francis of Assisi Primary School
Runner Up: St Bartholomew’s Primary School
Runner Up: Hillhead Primary School

Thank you to the Hammermen of Glasgow for collaborating with us to ignite a lasting passion for STEM.

Earlier this month, we delivered a Hub Event in collaboration with JPMorganChase at Glasgow Caledonian University.

It was fantastic to hear directly from both pupils and educators about their experience of the day and the impact the event had on them.

Moments like these highlight the value of Hub Events and the importance of working alongside valued partners to create meaningful opportunities for young people.

On Monday the 20th of April, we delivered our first CREST Discovery Day in collaboration with Thales at their Glasgow location. This day marked the beginning of a high-impact STEM engagement programme across the UK. The resources developed for this programme have been accredited by the British Science Association and will be made available for continued teacher and educator use.

The young people took part in immersive problem-solving activities themed around digital skills and cybersecurity. They then took on their own challenge to design a smart Technology solution for their cities and schools.

Alongside taking part in this CREST Discovery Day, participants also had the opportunity to tour the facilities, gaining valuable insight into real-world STEM environments.

A fantastic start to the programme, bringing STEM learning to life through hands-on activity and industry engagement.

A huge well done to all participants for achieving their CREST Discovery Award.
