Merlwood Nursery

It is with deep regret that we have to inform you that Merlwood Nursery will close on the 27th June 2019.
The staff and committee of Merlwood would like to thank everyone who has supported the nursery over the last 44 years.
The closure of Merlwood is due in part to a decline in attendance in the last few years and with the introduction of 1140 hrs from 2020 the nursery is no longer viable to operate.
The success of the nursery was in a large part due to the fundraising efforts of the parents and local community.
We are all saddened by the closure of the nursery as we all realise how much Merlwood will be missed.

The Early Learning and Childcare application form will be live on EDC website from Monday 14th January 2019, closing date is 28th February 2019, any applications received after this date will be treated as a late application.
A new application form has to be filled in for each year your child attends nursery.

Merlwood Nursery has been successful in accessing the Co-op local community fund.
The Co-op Local Community Fund helps to support local projects that members care about. Since its launch in 2017, Co-op members have raised £39 million pounds for over 12,000 local causes. We’re delighted that Merlwood Nursery will now be able to access this funding opportunity.
How the fund works. Every time a member shops at the Co-op, 1% of what they spend on Co-op branded products and services helps fund the community project. Members can shop at:-

A big thank you to everyone who attended our Halloween Party on Saturday. We had lots of fun and raised £557 for nursery funds. Our winner of the 50/50 was Lorraine Rossi. We also still have some unclaimed raffle prizes the numbers are listed below. If you have a winning ticket your prize can be collected any morning from nursery.

A parent has very kindly donated to the Nursery 1 Adult & 3 children’s tickets for a visit to the Enchanted Forest on Saturday 13th October.
The coach check in time is 6:45pm.
We have decided to have a silent auction for the tickets.
