Spotlight on - Welcome & Introduction

Well-being is a field I care deeply about, particularly after bearing witness to the impact of poor well-being in my role as as a Supervisor for a national children’s helpline.

During my time at this well known charity, I supported, coached and safeguarded thousands of service users with a high level of successful interventions.

In this role I also trained, coached and supervised hundreds of volunteers/paid staff due to being responsible for the day to day running of the service along with my colleagues at that time.

After nine years in this coaching and child protection role, I re-trained as a Relaxation & Stress Control Practitioner and moved to a role within a human rights organisation. This in part was to aid recovery from burn out at that time.

Since then I’ve progressed to a 1-2-1 support role within another national helpline. In this role, amongst other things, I help individuals who have experienced recent and/or historical trauma to feel seen, heard and understood.

Last year I reflected on how I could further help my wider community to reach their true potential and overcome life limiting barriers.

I loved the person-centred counselling approach in my initial role, however while this type of intervention worked well for many of the children and young adults using the service, others seemed to be stuck, talking about the same situations, day after day, year after year, with no progression or improvement because the issues were only explored on a conscious level.

For this reason I was drawn to Hypnotherapy. I feel this along with my Stress Mastery coaching supports clients to make positive changes in their lives over a considerably short period of time.

Hypnotherapy is not just for becoming a non smoker and weight management. Whatever you are experiencing in life right now, that you feel is limiting, hypnotherapy could be for you.

Most hypnotherapy sessions are 60 minutes in length and book-able by payment in advance.

Blocks of sessions are available if you feel ready to make lasting changes.

One off sessions are available if you are looking to find out if hypnotherapy might be for you.

This is the same structure for Stress Mastery Coaching.

Most appointments are online or via the telephone. However, occasional face to face sessions are available if this is your preference for an additional charge relating to room hire.

Spotlight on Phobias

Fear is a natural and healthy response we all have to danger. It’s a survival instinct designed to help us avoid and escape threatening situations. Phobias, however, are a bit different. To start with, phobias are more intense than fears - they can lead to severe anxiety and panic attacks for some people.

The good news is that phobias and the connected limitations on your every day life is something you could be free off in a relatively short period of time, whether it’s a recently developed phobia or something that has been part of your life for a substantial period of time.

During your hypnotherapy sessions we would work together so that the disproportionate response around the phobia can be changed.

Spotlight on Stress Mastery Coaching

Stress is a normal part of life but can become a pressure that overwhelms us. It can impact on every aspect of our lives, narrowing our ability to think clearly, function effectively, and enjoy life. At times it may seem like there’s nothing you can do about stress, but you have a lot more control than you might think.

During your sessions we will work together to understand the sources of your stress and explore options for alleviating the impact with a view to helping you to move forward with your life in a more balanced way.

Time management, goal setting, motivation, procrastination, assertiveness, lifestyle management, relaxation training and identifying personal strategies are just some of the areas that your tailor made sessions might touch upon.

A minimum of 3 sessions is suggested if you feel that you could benefit from one to one Stress Mastery Coaching.

If you're just in need of a little bit of supported me time individual Relax and Unwind sessions are also bookable.

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation during which suggestions are made to create beneficial changes in ideas or behavior.

The subconscious mind controls the involuntary functions of the body, including habits and things that we do ‘automatically’ - it is fueled by our emotions and imagination and directs the energy from within. The subconscious mind also contains memories of every single thing that has occurred to us.

In hypnosis the mind is very receptive to new ideas and open to suggestions which encourage more sensible, balanced or helpful attitudes to reality.

For some conditions, regression techniques can be used. This may mean re-examining (without necessarily re-experiencing) events which influenced us at an earlier time in life. By bringing these memories to the surface the subconscious mind is able to discharge the negative effects and can be ‘reprogrammed’ for success.

It is not a substitute for medical treatment, but can be a very useful supplement to it depending on the problem. Mind and body affect each other and the person as a whole in benefited by this holistic approach.

The number of sessions required usually varies from person to person, however most people feel some benefit from hypnotherapy immediately.
