Contrary to conditioned beliefs…
“1st Jan ~ new year, new me” is mostly bu****it.
Humans don’t magically reboot because a calendar flipped. We’re not phones. No factory reset at midnight. 🍾 👀
It’s winter. ❄️ 💤
Nature is resting. Trees aren’t blooming. Seeds aren’t sprouting. Animals are conserving energy.
And guess what? We’re part of nature, not separate from it.
Winter is biology saying:
Slow down. Reflect. Repair. Restore.
Your nervous system is wired for this. Less daylight affects hormones, mood, energy and motivation. Your body wants warmth, rest, and simplicity ~ not hustle, punishment, or “be a whole new person by Monday”.
The whole January pressure thing came from productivity culture, not human design.
It keeps people feeling like they’re failing when actually… they’re just seasonal beings doing winter properly.
Real change doesn’t start in January.
It starts in spring, when energy rises naturally, ideas want to move, and momentum feels alive again.
So if you’re tired, introspective, craving comfort, or feeling “behind” ~ you’re not broken.
You’re in rhythm. 🌌
Use winter to rest, review, and realign.
Then let spring do what spring does.
Nature knows the way. Always has. 🌱

Your space is sacred.
Not just your home ~ but your mind, your energy, and yes… even your social media.
You get to choose what you let in.
People. Conversations. Content. Noise.
If it drains you, triggers comparison, or leaves you feeling like crap about yourself ~ that’s your cue. Unfollow. Mute. Step back. No announcement required.
Fill your space with what lifts you.
People who inspire you.
Voices that calm your nervous system.
Images that make you exhale instead of tense up.
Protect your space like your life depends on it.
Because it does.

IMPOSTER SYNDROME ISN'T INCAPABILITY, IT'S INEXPERIENCE... understanding this difference changed my life👇🏾
5 years ago today, at 27 years old the BBC called me and asked:
"Do you want to become a Dragon on Dragon's Den".
I was shocked. But I said, Yes.
To me it’s not just an iconic show, it’s a culturally, economically and entrepreneurially important one.
I was 28 when I entered the Den.
About to sit in a chair I'd role-played myself in since I was 12.
To my left: Peter Jones. There since episode one, 2005.
To my right: Deborah Meaden. 19 years in that seat.
Producer counts down: "30 seconds until the first entrepreneur."
My hands are sweating?! Heart thumping in my ears!
Not because I couldn't evaluate businesses. I'd built and sold companies and made investments - in fact my first ever investment was into a young Hyrum Cook for an idea he pitched me pre-launch called Adanola.
But I'd never done it with cameras rolling and millions watching.
For 15 years, I'd watched from my parents' sofa.
Paused the TV as a child to give my verdict before the Dragons.
Played businessman in my living room.
Now I was.... inside the TV. In the actual Den.
The lights really hot. The chair stiffer than expected and the silence before that lift opens, deafening.
Here's what I learnt:
Imposter syndrome isn't about incapability. It's about inexperience.
Your brain literally can't tell the difference between: "I've never done this" and "I can't do this"
Same signal. Same fear. Completely different realities.
First entrepreneur walks in. Pitches. The Dragons turn to me.
My mind goes blank for exactly one second.
Then muscle memory kicks in.
"Your customer acquisition costs across social media is 3x your lifetime value," I hear myself saying. "How do you fix that?"
Peter nods. Deborah builds on my point.
I belonged there. I just hadn't belonged there before.
One pitch in, the nerves are gone. 10 pitches in and I forgot the cameras, 50 pitches in and that chair felt comfortable, 500 pitches later - I'm having fun, experimenting, pushing boundaries a little.
And the thing is, Imposter syndrome hits the hardest when you're doing something that really matters - that you really care about. When you're exactly where you should be. When you're growing!
That's why I call imposter syndrome, "growth syndrome" - who would choose a life without that?
I wasn't an imposter. I was a 28-year-old who'd never been a Dragon before.
And, it turns out that's exactly what they wanted - someone who was a bit naive, inexperienced - different.
The lack of experience is not the problem,
but it always holds an advantage - that's what you focus on.
To everyone facing their own Dragon's Den moment, please remember this:
You belong in every room you're brave enough to enter and the room that intimidates you most is the one that needs your perspective the most!

Healing yourself isn’t selfish.
It’s leadership.
When you choose to face your own emotional stuff ~ regulate your nervous system ~ break old patterns ~ you quietly give permission for others to do the same.
Your kids feel it.
Your partner feels it.
Your friends feel it.
Even strangers feel it.
You don’t need to preach.
You don’t need to convince.
Your calm becomes the lesson.
One regulated human can shift an entire room.
Imagine millions.
Healing spreads.
Trauma does too ~ but we’re choosing differently now.
So if you’re doing the inner work while raising little humans…
Know this ~ you’re changing the future in real time.
Keep going.
This matters more than you know.

Every time you grow, something drops off. People call it “loss”… but most of the time it’s just your soul doing a spring clean.
When you level up, you can’t carry the old clutter with you. A habit that kept you stuck. A friendship that only made sense in your wounded era. A version of you that survived… but wasn’t built for where you’re going next.
It feels uncomfortable because your mind panics. It thinks you’re being abandoned. In reality, you’re shedding anything that can’t breathe at the altitude you’re rising to.
Evolution isn’t tidy. You’ll leave behind comfort zones, coping mechanisms, and sometimes folk you genuinely cared about. Not because you’re cold… because you’re changing frequency.
If something or someone falls away during your growth, don’t take it as rejection. Take it as confirmation. You’re moving into a chapter where the old rules don’t apply and the old you doesn’t fit.
Loss isn’t always loss. Sometimes it’s a doorway. Sometimes it’s proof you’ve stopped repeating cycles. Sometimes it’s simply you choosing your soul over your survival patterns.
Keep going. Levelling up is rarely pretty, but it’s always worth it.

Staying Conscious in a World That Thrives on Autopilot….
Most people don’t realise this… but the moment you become aware of your own patterns, you’re already shifting.
It doesn’t need to look mystical or dramatic. Sometimes it’s just you, standing in your kitchen thinking,
“Right… old me would’ve kicked off here, but new me is taking a breath.”
That’s consciousness.
That’s growth.
That’s you unplugging from the noise and tuning back into yourself.
Life will always test your edges.
People will try your patience.
The world will fling chaos at your energy field like it’s a hobby.
But you get to choose whether you meet it from the old you ~ the reactive you ~ or the version that’s slowly becoming your new normal…
the you who pauses, sees the pattern, and chooses differently.
That’s where real change happens.
Not in big leaps ~ in tiny daily choices that slowly build a life that feels calmer, clearer, and more you.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re already shifting.
You’re noticing things.
You’re questioning things.
You’re choosing with more awareness than you give yourself credit for.
Keep going. You’re upgrading in real time, whether you’ve spotted it yet or not.

“Life gave me a sad story, but I chose to rewrite the ending.”
For a long time, my life felt like one long chapter of darkness & suffering. I carried so much grief, trauma, and disappointment from such a young age that I honestly didn’t know who I was without it. When you’ve been through enough storms, you start to believe you are the storm. That this is just the way life is and will forever be. 😏
But one day, (albeit after multiple attempts on my life and a full on breakdown) I realised I didn’t have to keep living inside the old story. I didn’t have to keep repeating the same pain just because it was familiar. I could choose different.
“I could choose different”
That moment changed everything. Healing didn’t happen overnight ~ it came in waves. Some days I was fierce and focused, others I was back in those memories wondering if I’d ever feel free. But slowly, piece by piece, I started to rebuild.
I stopped seeing myself as broken and started seeing myself as someone who survived. Someone who could take all that pain and turn it into purpose. Someone who could help others do the same.
We can’t change what’s been written, but we can absolutely decide how the story ends. You don’t need to pretend it didn’t happen, or skip over the hard bits. You just need to stop letting those chapters hold the pen.
The moment you decide to stop living in the old version of you, you start creating the one who’s been waiting to rise.
Here’s to the next chapter ~ the one where you choose peace, truth, and alignment with your soul.
