Dr Love's Mathematics Tuition

I currently have a couple of spaces for one to one face-to-face Maths tuition in Glasgow South, and several spaces for one to one online tuition. I cover SQA up to Advanced Higher, adult learners, college students, and also offer informal parent refresher courses! Please see my page for further information. Thank you ☺️

I offer in-person teaching around Glasgow and surrounding areas, and online teaching across Scotland. I have over thirty years tutoring experience, and an intimate knowledge of the SQA Mathematics curriculum up to National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher level.
I am very experienced in working one-to-one with both Primary and Secondary pupils who have gaps in their knowledge/skills for a variety of reasons. I have worked with many pupils who lack confidence in school, who find maths boring/pointless, who are struggling to keep up, but also gifted children who need a little more challenge than their school can offer. I have also taught many children who have missed significant periods of school, Home Educated children whose parent’s struggle with secondary Maths, and children who have to travel regularly due to their parents’ occupation.
I can help adult learners returning to education (including entry to teacher training, technical and nursing courses), and parents who need some refreshers in order to be able to confidently help their own children with homework. I also work with Further and Higher education students who need to study Maths as part of their Science, Computing or Engineering degree.
With senior secondary and mature students, I welcome maths support questions between sessions. I actually find this fun, and it keeps me busy! For examples of the types of online chats between sessions, some anonymised discussions can be seen in my Photo Album.
I have a First Class Honours BSc degree and a PhD, both from the University of Glasgow, and have completed the ‘Early Years’ component of Primary Education at the University of Strathclyde. I have held research, lecturing and professional services positions at the University of Glasgow, University of West of England, and University of Scotland.
