Hi everyone. After years of effort to improve road safety outside the school, Glasgow Live has published an article highlighting some of our concerns. East Renfrewshire Council Roads Department have even refused to re-paint the faded yellow zig-zag markings, and our wonderful crossing patroller is being removed in December (apparently having a crossing patroller alongside traffic lights is too "confusing" for the people of Thornliebank). This also affects pupils at Woodfarm High and St Ninian's who use this crossing.

We'd be grateful if you could contact your local councillor to let them know that you support better signage and road safety measures outside the school. If you live in the Thornliebank area of ERC these are Provost Mary Montague, Colm Merrick, and Gordon Wallace. You can also report road faults, such as a lack of signage or faded road markings, to East Renfrewshire at https://www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/road-drain-pavement-fault-form

Thank you for your support!

At our Parent Council meeting last night, we spent a lot of time discussing road safety around the school. One of the biggest problems is parents/carers parking on the pavement on Bangorshill Street. This is a plea to all drivers: Pavement parking is unsafe, unfair, and illegal. Even if you're late, don't park near the school gate!
