A group of wonderful students from the University of Glasgow who practise the Japanese martial of Kendo, a collection of techniques and philosophies originating from the sword practises of the samurai. Exciting news! GUKC will be running a stall at the sports fair tomorrow (Sunday 10th September) and Monday 11th September from 10am until 4pm at Hunter Hall West in the Main building on Campus!
We will also be running demonstrations each morning so come and have a look!

Tomorrow we are holding our first shinai maintenance social in the St Andrews Building art studio (559B) from 6pm onwards! Remember to bring your own shinai if you want to maintain it or bring your gi and hakama to practice folding it for the kyu tests. If you don't have your own equipment to maintain, you can still help with the club shinais or just join us to watch a movie or play uno! We hope to see you all there ⚔️

In the interest of our club progression, our cut-off date for club membership sign up is this Sunday. This means that we will not be accepting beginners past this date. We are very proud of how our new members are advancing their kendo but this also means that our sessions are becoming more advanced and less beginner-friendly.
Don’t worry if you didn’t manage to join this semester, membership sign-ups will reopen at the start of Semester 2!
