Things we wish would STOP being taught in the laser industry…

👎🏻 The machine tells you the parameters, you don’t have to do anything but click
👎🏻 Fitzpatrick skin typing
👎🏻 Pulsewidth changes for thickness of hair
👎🏻 Pulling the QS Nd:YAG handpiece away for tattoo removal
👎🏻 Tan safe lasers or techniques
👎🏻 Thermal Relaxation Time being SOOOO important
👎🏻 No contact skin cooling

Apologies if you’ve had to deal with me over the last few days while my daughter has been very generously sharing her germs 😂

One of the less glamorous parts of running your own business is that apparently the invoicing, planning, emails and general keeping the show on the road don’t stop just because you feel like death. The audacity, eh?!

Some days I’m teaching, planning the next move for Dermalase and feeling like I know exactly what I’m doing.

Other days I’m answering emails in a dressing gown, reheating the same coffee for the third time and hoping nobody phones me. 😂

And I think that’s a much more accurate representation of running a business than we tend to show online. You can be good at what you do and still be absolutely winging parts of it. We all are and at Dermalase, we get it.

Anyway. Normal service will resume shortly.
Assuming Patient Zero stops bringing things home. She’s real happy about it. 😂

Training doesn’t have to be on a Dermalase machine.

If you already have a laser or IPL machine and you’re unsure how to use it confidently, bring your machine manual along and we can talk you through it during your training.

We can help you understand your settings, wavelengths, treatment options and how to actually apply the theory to the machine you’re working with.

It’s not about learning one specific machine, it’s about understanding the science behind what you’re doing so you can work confidently with your own equipment.

Message us if you’re unsure whether we can train you on your machine and we can have a look for you.

Another Level 4 group PASSED ❤️🎓

So proud of this group and all the work they’ve put in!

Level 4 is so much more than learning how to use a laser. It’s about understanding the science behind the treatments, how laser and IPL actually work, skin and hair, wavelengths, light tissue interactions, treatment planning, consultations, patch testing, safety and knowing WHY you’re choosing your settings.

These were also our last Level 4 students training from the gorgeous Private Medical Rooms 🥹❤️

We’ve loved our time here but we are SO excited for the next chapter and to welcome our next Level 4 group into our brand new Dermalase unit!
