St Columba’s School Piping and Drumming Programme is delighted to invite you to a special evening of music featuring a Mini Band from the 16-time World Champions, Shotts & Dykehead Pipe Band.

This event marks one month before 61 members of our Piping and Drumming Programme head over to New York City for Tartan Day Week.

Join us for what promises to be an unforgettable night of outstanding musicianship and a fantastic atmosphere.

Following the excellent news that The Band has been promoted to Grade 4A for RSPBA competitions, we are looking to strengthen our Drum Corps.
We urgently need Tenor Drummers, and additional Snare Drummers would also be made welcome. If you're looking for a fresh challenge, or maybe looking to get back into playing after a break, can play to the level of an MSR and Medley, we'd love to hear from you. As a Band, we are enthusiastic, dedicated, but fun.

NYC Tartan Week

Following the announcement of the UK Championships on Friday, we are pleased to confirm dates & locations for all Major Championships in 2026.

🔹 British Championships - 30th May - Edinburgh
🔹 UK Championships - 13th June - Belfast
🔹 European Championships - 27th June - Perth
🔹 Scottish Championships - 25th July - Dumbarton
🔹 World Championships - 14th & 15th August - Glasgow

Further information about each Championship, including playing requirements, will be shared in due course.

We look forward to welcoming our bands to each of the Championships in 2026.

The Big Rab Show

After a succesfull competition season, which included a 3rd place at the Uk Championship, 7th at the Scottish Championship, our placings at Cowal Games, and Lothian and Borders competitions in Grade 4B and 4A, resulting in The Band being crowned Lothian & Borders Branch, Champion of Champions, The Band have received some fantastic news. We are proud to announce we have been promoted to Grade 4A by the RSPBA. This is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication by members and supporters, rebuilding The Band over the past few years. As a result, we are looking to further strenghten The Band, and would welcome, in particular, additional Tenor Drummers, Snare Drummers and Pipers would also be made welcome.
The Band also offer tution in Piping, Snare and Tenor Drumming. For further information phone 07544668014, or drop in to a practice in Shottstown Miners Hall in Penicuik, Mon and Thurs at 7.00pm.
