This opportunity is open to eligible P3 and 4 students and will include activities related to art, music an performance!

IntoUniversity Govan had an action packed November hosting two Human Rights FOCUS Weeks with Pirie Park Primary School's P6 classes!

🙌Monday: Students learnt about Children's rights, the difference between wants & needs, refugees and how their lives are impacted, and the history of Apartheid in South Africa
👩‍⚖️Tuesday: Teams completed ☝️Secret Mission 1☝️ and had an exciting workshop provided by the University of Glasgow where they investigated Human Rights: Museums & Justice
💭Wednesday: Students learnt more about university and thought about their future aspirations and completed ☝️Secret Mission 2☝️ ahead of their graduation
🏫Thursday: Went on a trip to the People's Palace and learnt about Glasgow's involvement in the Transatlantic Slavery Trade
👩‍🎓Friday: Took a trip over to the University of Glasgow for a campus tour and a formal graduation to celebrate the class' hard work!

IntoUniversity Govan kick started this October with an ⚙️Engineering⚙️ FOCUS Week hosting St Saviour's Primary School's P6 class!

Monday: Students learnt about civil, aerospace, automotive and electrical engineering 🛠
Tuesday: Teams completed ☝️Secret Mission 1☝️ and had an exciting workshop provided by the University of Glasgow where they got to build spaghetti towers🗼
Wednesday: Students learnt more about university and thought about their future aspirations and completed ☝️Secret Mission 2☝️ ahead of their graduation💭
Thursday: Went on a trip to Fairfield Heritage - the story of Glasgow's greatest shipyard where students got to learn about Govan's shipbuilding history 🚢
Friday: Took a trip over to the University of Glasgow for a campus tour and a formal graduation to celebrate the class' hard work! 👩‍🎓

🌟During the Easter Holidays, we ran a Wellbeing session for P7-S6 students which included an amazing workshop delivered by Judy and Gemma from LUSH UK's Buchanan Street branch.🌟

Students got to test out some products, meditate, participate in a fashion show and best of all - got to take some luscious goodies home to enjoy! 🛀

A wonderful time was had by all! 🫶

Students from IntoUniversity Govan recently took part in a 'Global Games' Business in FOCUS workshop hosted by the global technology company 'Accenture'. Business in FOCUS (BiF) is a one day programme where students work on a shared task with IntoUniversity staff and corporate volunteers. BiF provides a high-impact, fast-paced, informative and ‘hands-on’ work simulation. What a fantastic day! 😃

🌎Around the World Holiday FOCUS🌎

Last week we hosted 24 P3/P4 students for our Around the World themed Holiday FOCUS programme. 🎉

Over the 3 days students focused on Diversity and Inclusion, learning all about important people, self identity, protected characteristics, festivals, games, music and societies from all around the world. 🤝

Students also got to attend a trip to the Glasgow Science Centre and had a wonderful food workshop delivered by Sally and Sheena - thank you!🍎🥦

IntoUniversity Govan and IntoUniversity Maryhill are recruiting volunteers for our after school Academic Support clubs. We are looking for anyone who has an enthusiasm for education, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to use their initiative.

🎉IU is 20! 🎉

2002 was not just the year of Yu-Gi-Oh, 2nd Gen iPods and that David Beckham penalty... it was also the year that IntoUniversity was founded in a little corner of West London to support young people in the local community.

20 years is a significant milestone for any charity, but for IntoUniversity it is especially meaningful. 20 years represents a generation, and for the students we work with, it means the transition from childhood to adulthood. Dreams that were first imagined 20 years ago are now becoming a reality. Potential that was then untapped is now being realised.

This year, we're looking forward to sharing stories and moments from across the last 20 years, as well as looking forward to the next 20 years as where we will continue to support young people to overcome barriers to success. Read more here https://bit.ly/3SK1ZXZ

Last week, we kicked off the academic year with a 🐅Zoology🐅 FOCUS Week with St Saviour's Primary School's P6 class!

Monday: Students learnt about blubber, feathers, mimicry and animal niches.🐧

Tuesday: Completed their team name poster and had an exciting workshop provided by the University of Glasgow where they got to see real dog skulls. 🐶

Wednesday: Went on a trip to Amazonia where students got to interact with real life animals. 🐍

Thursday: Students learnt more about university and thought about their future aspirations. 👨‍🔬

Friday: Took a trip over to the University of Glasgow for a campus tour and a formal graduation to celebrate the class' hard work! 👩‍🎓
