Join Cardinal Hume Sixth Form for an Evening of Line Dancing on Wednesday 9th July, 6:30β8:00 PM! Expect a fun-filled night of dancing, refreshments, and a lively tombola, all in support of Gen X and Age UK Gateshead π

π§ π Problem Solving Success at Newcastle University! π
On Wednesday afternoon, 16 of our Year 9 pupils represented the school at a Problem Solving event hosted by the Mathematics and Physics Department at Newcastle University.
Competing in three teams against five other schools, our students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, resilience, and analytical thinking throughout the challenges.
We are especially proud to share that one of our teams won the event β a fantastic achievement! ππ
Event organisers commended our pupils for their excellent attitude and behaviour. Well done to everyone involved β you did us proud! π

βοΈπ STEM Field Trip β Space Sector Experience! π
On Tuesday 9th, 15 of our pupils took part in an exciting, all-day visit to the School of Engineering at Newcastle University β and what a fantastic experience it was!
Students rotated through four hands-on workshops, exploring:
πΉ Drone capture
πΉ Seestar telescope technology
πΉ Rocketry
πΉ Aerospace engineering
The day also featured an Airbus stall at lunchtime, giving pupils a real insight into careers across the space and aerospace sector.
This STEM-focused trip helped broaden studentsβ awareness of future pathways in fields such as aerospace engineering and space technology. πβ¨
A big thank you to the School of Engineering at Newcastle University for such a well-organised and engaging day β our pupils had an excellent time! π

Y9/10 Girls Football Inspires Cup
Congratulations to the Year 9/10 Girls Football team who had a successful afternoon at the Inspire Cup Football tournament. The team were unbeaten across the tournament. An outstanding performance. Well done girls! β½π

Durham County Championships Success π
Congratulations to all of our students who competed in the Durham County Championships on Saturday; a fantastic achievement to represent Gateshead at such a high level.
A special mention goes to Katie, who secured 1st place in the 100m and will now go on to represent Durham County this Saturday; an outstanding accomplishment!
We are incredibly proud of all involved; dedication, effort and talent on full display. π

Y7/8 Girls Football Inspires Cup
11 students participated in a 7-A-Side Football Tournament at Ford Football Hub. The morning consisted of 29 teams across four group stages. The Cardinal Comets strike again, achieving the following results;
CHCS 1 - Manor 0
CHCS 0 - Parkside 0
CHCS 1 - Monkwearmouth A 0

Itβs Carerβs Week! This week weβre showing our support to the thousands of unpaid carers across Gateshead and recognising their vital contributions to our communities.
Weβre celebrating national Carers Week by recognising and raising awareness of the incredible work unpaid carers do, and making sure no one feels they must care alone.
