Cardinal Hume Catholic School Celebrates GCSE Success
Cardinal Hume Catholic School is proud to celebrate an outstanding set of GCSE results, with students achieving exceptional outcomes across subjects.
Across all headline measures, students have surpassed those achieved in 2025 and their results far exceed national and local averages, with overall attainment approximately a whole grade above the national figure. It is delightful to see even more students than in previous years attaining the very top grades of 9-7 and the percentage of young people walking away with grades 4 and 5 and above in both Mathematics and English also increasing. Moreover, those achieving the suite of qualifications associated with the English Baccalaureate (English, Mathematics, Science, Languages and Humanities) were also exceptional, building on the tradition of academic success at Cardinal Hume.
The results reflect the hard work and determination shown by students throughout their education and underline the continued strength of teaching, learning and pastoral support across the school. Students have achieved excellent grades across the curriculum, opening doors to a wide range of future opportunities.
Headteacher Mr Robson said:
"These results represent the culmination of years of hard work, resilience and dedication. They have demonstrated tremendous ambition and character, and they deserve every success that comes their way. While we are delighted by the exceptional grades they have achieved today, we are equally proud of the delightful young people behind them. They leave Year 11 with the knowledge, skills and values needed to make a positive contribution to society, and we look forward to seeing all that they accomplish in the years ahead."
There are many individual success stories, but to name a few Aidan S, Aidan Mc and Ye achieved the remarkable distinction of securing all Grade 9s, reflecting exceptional academic excellence, alongside many securing grades 8 and 9 across all subjects. We also congratulate Travis, Gracjan and Amber on their impressive successes, combining strong GCSE outcomes with outstanding performance in IT, Sport, Business and Health and Social Care qualifications.
The school also paid tribute to its staff, whose expertise, encouragement and commitment have helped students to thrive.
