Been out of action for the last 10 days due to a broken arm, right hand not working and still very sore and trying to use left hand. Big upheaval in house as I cannot climb stairs. Big thank you to all members of staff at Borders General Hospital (ward 12) and other departments. NHS the best in Scotland!!!!

You know the saying regarding computers "garbage in garbage out" When it come to searching genealogy indices it is amazing how many entries have been wrongly indexed. Like all responsible researchers Scottish Genealogy Research always informs the appropriate authorities of such errors to enure that errors are corrected.

Had a fantastic 2 days at the Haining Selkirk open weekend. Met some fantastic people and it was great to see so many people young and old enjoying themselves. The organisers and volunteers did themselves proud. The interior of the house was looking so authentic and the players who acted out some of the history and weel kent characters of the house. Even I was furnished with a costume with top hat. Photo to came later. Thank you to all who stopped to speak and ask questions on their Scottish family history. Any future events planned for the Haining will appear in due course.

Nothing to do with genealogy but thank you to Scotland and Australia for such an entertaining game of rugby. Disappointed that Scotland did not win but so proud of our Scottish players, real guts, skills, and determination. Keep it going lads your time will come!!!!!!!!

With all that rain also had the time to watch recorded documentary on the British Slave Trade. Still to watch part 2.
I never knew that when slavery was finally abolished the slave owners and not the poor slaves received compensation from the government. I will reprt furthe after watching part 2
