The last few weeks the children have been having lots of discussions about what they’d like to turn our home area into. The older children created a mind map and supported the younger ones by sharing suggestions, pictures, and chatting together about their ideas.

We then put all the ideas on paper and the children got to vote for what they wanted it to be first… and the winner was a Hair & Beauty Salon 💇‍♀️✨

So over the past couple of weeks we’ve been busy getting everything ready 🥰 The children are absolutely loving being hairdressers ✂️ and are now open for new clients 😉

Over the next few months we’ll be working our way through all the other fantastic ideas, making sure every child sees their suggestion come to life and feels listened to and valued ❤️🌻

I genuinely LOVE my “job” and feel so incredibly lucky every single day to do what I love. I’ve always said—if I could do it for free, I absolutely would!

And then moments like this happen… A child arrives at the door, all excited: “Hayley, I’ve got you flowers!” They rummage through their lunchbox and proudly hand me these little treasures. Moments like that hit me right in the feels 🥺🫶🏼🌻

Children truly are the best!! 💛

Another couple of busy weeks here 🥰
Lots of adventures!!

🪵 exploring the woods, building bug houses , climbing trees,fairy hunting and lots of risk taking

🦌 We visited the deer centre. The children enjoyed feeding the deers and watching the bird show. We were super lucky to have a little owl land on our table 🦉

🦅 We visited loch of lowes to the Osprey centre, the children used the viewing window to see what wildlife they could see, they also used binoculars and the telescope (which was a little tricky) 🤭 the children also enjoyed looking through a variety of nature fact books & stories

🏖️ We have visited the beach many times! Enjoying the lovely sunny weather and cooling down in the sea 🌊

🏰 We have visited Glamis castle and went on a tour around the castle, the children were very interested in this and learnt lots about the castle

From jewlerry making, to bouncy castles, soft play & parks!! It’s definitely been a lovely summer so far ☀️

Summer Holiday Adventures ☀️

We’ve had a fantastic start to the summer holidays, filled with lots of learning experiences, outdoor fun, and plenty of curiosity and creativity!

🍓 We’ve tasted countless berries while visiting local fruit farms. The children have been learning about where their food comes from and the importance of healthy eating — exploring new tastes and making connections with nature.
🏖️ From the burn, paddling pools & to the beach we have been learning about water safety and keeping ourselves safe near water, the children are building confidence and awareness in different environments.
🌳 In the woods, we’ve been busy exploring nature, building dams, climbing, and learning through play — problem-solving, collaborating, and discovering the world around us.
🧱 Indoors, we’ve enjoyed Lego building, Paw Patrol, junk modelling and exploring the globe doing quizzes and discussions, sparking interest in the wider world and encouraging curiosity.
🐐 We’ve also visited animals, feeding goats and pigs, ducks and chicken, learning how to care for living things.

We’re not even halfway through the holidays yet! 🥳
I’ve said it so many times before… but I really do love the holidays ☀️

🤩🥳 Happy Birthday to us 🥳🤩

Today marks 10 whole years since I began this amazing journey in childminding – and what a journey it’s been!

I’ve created a special tree, with a leaf for every child I’ve had the privilege of caring for. Each initial represents a story, a giggle, a muddy puddle jumped in, a picture painted, a tear wiped away, an adventure and memories made. 🌳💚

Over the years, I’ve watched tiny feet grow into confident steps, little voices turn into curious questions, and new friendships blossom. Children have come through my door, grown up, flourished and moved on to their next adventures – but they have all become part of my family.

I feel incredibly lucky to have been a part of so many little lives — and even more honoured that so many have become a lasting part of mine. Thank you to all the amazing families who have trusted me over the past 10 years with their amazing little humans.

Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the friendships we’ve built, and the many more adventures — and little feet — still to come. I can’t wait to welcome new children into our little family in the future, and to add even more leaves to our growing tree. 🌱💛
