Early Years Practitioner – Level 2 or Level 3

We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Level 2 or Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Lyminge Pre-School.

🕒 Hours:
4 days per week during term time, working between the hours of 8am – 5pm.

The role also includes a small amount of work during the school holidays:
• 1 day during October, February, Easter and May half terms.
• 4 days across the Summer holidays

Holiday sessions run 8:45am – 3:15pm.

📅 Contract:
Permanent position

📆 Start Date:
June 2026 or September 2026 (we can be flexible for the right candidate)

💼 Job Role Includes:
✅ Supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS
✅ Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
✅ Working as part of a team to plan and deliver engaging activities
✅ Building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
✅ Contributing to observations and key person responsibilities

🧠 Requirements:
• A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years (essential)
• Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
• Experience working with children aged 2–4 years
• A warm, nurturing approach and a passion for early years
• Strong communication skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Paediatric First Aid certificate
• If you do not already hold one, you must be willing to complete this before starting the role

📚✨ World Book Day at Pre-School! ✨📚

What a lovely day we’ve had celebrating World Book Day! The children came dressed as some of their favourite characters and it was so much fun seeing all the different costumes.

We had tigers from The Tiger Who Came to Tea, Alice in Wonderland, princesses, Zog, Stick Man, dinosaurs, Sonic the Hedgehog, Spiderman and even some lovely cats! 🐯👑🦖🕷️🐱

It was also a beautiful sunny day, which made the celebrations even better. The children loved talking about their favourite stories and characters and sharing books together 📖☀️

🐾✨ More animal adventures yesterday! ✨🐾

We were so excited to welcome our animal friend back but this time the visitors were a little cuter and fluffier! 🥰

The children once again had the opportunity to see, gently touch and learn about different animals, building their confidence and understanding of how to care for living things.

This time we met:

🐹 Peaches the Guinea Pig
🐾 Ant the Skinny Pig
🤍 Reggie the Chinchilla
🐰 Orea the Bunny
🦔 Iris the Hedgehog
🦦 Bear the Ferret
🐾 Wobble the Tenrec

There were lots of smiles, calm hands and brilliant listening 👏
The children asked fantastic questions and showed so much care and curiosity.

What a wonderful week of hands-on learning! 🐾💚

🕷️🐍 What an AMAZING visit we had on Tuesday! 🐢🦎

We were so excited to welcome Creepy Crawls Animal Centre into Pre-School and meet some very special (and slightly creepy!) guests 👀✨

The children had the opportunity to see, touch and learn all about different animals, talking about their habitats, what they eat and how they move. Their confidence was incredible! 💚

We met:
🐍 Cleo the Python
🦎 Louise the Crested Gecko
🪳 Cockroach 1 😂 the Jungle Cockroach!
🦂 Mr Nippy the Scorpion
🦎 Bowser the Bearded Dragon
🐛 Millie the Millipede
🐢 Sydney the Baby Tortoise
🐌 Felicia the African Snail
🕷️ Marilyn the Tarantula

There were some very brave hands and LOTS of fascinated faces! 🤩

The children absolutely loved the experience and asked so many thoughtful questions 👏

We can’t wait to meet more animals today (Thursday)… but this time they’ll be a little cuter and fluffier! 🐰🐥🐾
