Congratulations on doing such great work this week! Once you’ve finished my Challenge - why don’t you try the National Challenge!
You can do it 💪🏻
Tomorrow I, Bikeability Lil, and my son Fergus are taking part in Outfit Moray’s Cairngorm to Coast sponsored 100km cycle challenge.
We are cycling from Cairngorm ski car park through Abernethy Forest, along part of the Speyside Way to Grantown on Spey. We then cycle along the whole of the Dava way to Forres. Next we will follow cycle route 1 to Lossiemouth where we will have a big lie down!😂
We are hoping to raise lots of funds to help our charity to provide outdoor learning and adventurous activities for vulnerable and disadvantaged children in Moray.
Any sponsors would be gratefully received. Thanks
The children listened carefully to instructions, calculated risk, worked collaboratively and thoroughly enjoyed their day!
P4 managed to squeeze in some Bike Week maths too! They collated data, included titles and axes and presented their work beautifully! Fantastic effort P4 🌟🦉🤩
The Bike Dr is in school tomorrow.
All children in P6 + P7 will need to bring their bike and helmet tomorrow so they can be checked.
If your child does not own a bike or helmet, they may borrow from Outfit Moray.
Children who travel by bus or taxi may leave their bikes in school over the weekend if they wish.
Mosstodloch’s page is there to celebrate success and to share achievements.
Operating as usual
Happy Christmas to our whole school community! 🎅🏻
Primaries 6 and 7 had a great time at their party on Tuesday. Fantastic dancing and great fun had by all! 💃🏻🕺🎄
Thanks to Ryan and his family for their donation of craft supplies for his class.
I’m sure they will be put to good use 🖼️

Another busy Building the Community on Friday.
We kicked off with a mindful snowball fight - ‘hitting’ each other with snowball stickers and sharing the kind things that we had noticed.
As always, we presented certificates and Owl bands.
We shared achievements that were wide and varied!
We celebrated birthdays 🥳
And we worked cooperatively across the school to take part in a Stoddie Christmas Quiz……..to be continued!🎄

Huge thanks to our Parent Council for providing the party snacks - it was very much appreciated! 🎄🎅🏻
P1 and P7 worked together to create Christmas tree tessellation art this afternoon.
They were all very proud of the final product!🎄
It’s party time 🥳
We kick off our Christmas parties with P4 + P5 tomorrow afternoon - Friday 16th December.
Children can change into their party clothes at lunchtime so they are ready for all the festive fun in the afternoon!
I’m sure they’ll have a fantastic time 🤩🎄🎅🏻
Fun in the snow ⛄️
The kitchen team - huge thanks to you all for providing the children with a delicious Christmas lunch and being so cheery and fun while you served us all! ❤️🤩🎄
Then we rounded off an already busy day with the token treat for the winning house.
Balnacoul pupils enjoyed a snowy play followed by a tasty snack and a Christmassy movie.
A pretty perfect day all in all!! 🤩
A few more from the Christmas Lunch 🎄
Our children enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch today thanks to Sylvia and her team in the kitchen! We are so grateful for all their hard work 🤩😋😍
The children also enjoyed a Festive Lucky Dip, some Christmas bingo and a singalong before returning to class this afternoon with full bellies and glad hearts ❤️
The snow even made an appearance making it look like a beautiful Christmas movie 🎥
Our pupils were challenged to create a hat to wear to their Christmas lunch! And boy did they rise to the occasion!
We were blown away by the creativity and imagination displayed by our learners 🤯 Miss Mackay and Mrs Jamieson were relieved that they didn’t have to make the tough decisions and choose the winners - phew 😮💨 Two members of the Parent Council took on that tricky job!
Mikey and Christopher helped our parents out by being unbiased models - thanks boys!
We announced the winners earlier in today and awarded prizes to all 8 children! Fantastic effort 🤩
A wee flashback to last year’s carols 🎄🎅🏻
A few more of the costume photos we managed to snap 📸🎄
After a busy old week we started this week’s Building the Community with a little festive yoga 🧘♀️🎄
As always, we dished out many certificates and awards, we celebrated birthdays and we shared an astonishing variety of achievements.
Friday also saw the first Christmas post being delivered by P5 ✉️
Sadly, we said cheerio to Miss Halsall as she leaves to take up a permanent post elsewhere. We thanked her for all that she has done for the school and our pupils. We wish her all the very best moving forward.
What a week!! 🤩
We are so proud of all our pupils following their Christmas performances last week ❤️
They continue to amaze us with their willingness to accept a challenge, their courage and their joyous approach to music!
Thanks also go to our staff for all their creativity and determination behind the scenes - the preparation and hard work you put in was obvious during the performances 🌟
And a huge thanks to our school community for being such enthusiastic and appreciative audiences! You made lots of little ones very happy 🥰
I’ll add the costume photos I have at the moment and post any others from staff members in another post.
The Christmas post box has arrived! 🎅🏻
Children will be able to post their cards and classes will take turns to be posties.
We have our teddy and puppy winners!
Aiden in P1 had the winning guess as teddy’s birthday was on the 16th of June! 🎂
Gracie in P3 guessed that the puppies favourite holiday destination is North Goa, India! 🏖️
Congratulations to you both! 🤩
What an amazing day it has been!
We cannot get over the huge crowd that came to join us tonight!
We were lucky to welcome a fantastic variety of local businesses into school.
The children’s products were very well received and a total sell out - I think 🤔
Huge thanks to our Parent Council for organising refreshments ☕️
We even had a visit from Santa! 🎅🏻
The biggest thanks of all goes to our school community for supporting our learners and staff. It was genuinely wonderful to welcome you into school again 🥰
Well done all 🤩
All the other classes had an opportunity to see the owls who were on their very best behaviour! Peggy, Lauren and Lana were just incredible and our pupils asked Claire some interesting and thought provoking questions.
What a wonderful interaction 🦉
The P3 owl experience was awesome 🤩 Huge thanks to Speyside Falconry! I’m sure Mrs Ferguson will share her photos on the Google Classroom. 🦉
Days just don’t get much better than this! 🦉
P3 are enjoying a learning visit with Speyside Falconry this morning!
The children are absolutely amazed by the beauty of these birds and they are learning so much from Claire.
The other classes will be able to visit with the owls for a short time later this morning.
Just spectacular ❤️
1 more sleep!!!!! 🤩🤩
We have been utterly amazed at the generosity of our school community!!
We can't wait to welcome you all into the school for the first Christmas Fayre in years!
The children have worked so hard to create their class businesses and a lot of learning has taken place to understand profit, loss, costings etc. They have assumed roles, problem solved and cooperated to work towards their shared goal. These are skills that children will undoubtedly use in the future in some capacity so already they are developing their workforce skills.
We are still welcoming donations, especially;
🎅Christmas Jumpers (that you've outgrown)
A post will be shared later today with information about the Fayre and the stall holders who will be joining us etc.
Please may we ask that you take your own bag as we will be unable to provide them.
May we also ask that you take change to use at the Fayre as we will have limited floats at each stall.
Photos from Mosstodloch Primary School's post
P7 were all ‘star bakers’ today as they began making and icing their ‘melted snowmen’ for Thursday’s Christmas Fayre. They look delicious! 😋
Thank you so much to all the kind people who have managed to donate items already! You are incredible! 😍
We are still looking for donations of;
🍫 Chocolate 🍫
🎅🏻 outgrown Christmas jumpers 🎅🏻

Thank you again for generosity!
We can’t wait to see you at the Christmas Fayre on Thursday 🎄

The words for the Christmas Carols that will be sung at the end of the Christmas performance have been shared on our Google Classrooms.
If you are able to go over the songs with your children, it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks for your support.
