❤️ Here are five effective ways you can help to improve your child’s reading fluency at home:

🩷 1. Daily Read-Aloud Time
Set aside time each day to read aloud with your child. Parents, you can model fluent reading by using expression, different voices for characters, and proper pacing.

⭐ After reading aloud, let your child try reading parts of the text aloud, mimicking your expression and tone. This helps them internalize fluency.

🧡 2. Echo and Choral Reading
In echo reading, the adult reads a sentence or short passage, and the child echoes it back. This reinforces proper pacing and intonation.

🖍️✨ These small muscle movements build strength, coordination, and control, which will help your child hold a pencil correctly, write with ease, and develop handwriting they’ll be proud of.

🖍️✨ Here are 5 easy, fun activities you can do at home to build these important skills:

🖍️✨ 1. Pasta Sorting: Give your child uncooked pasta in different shapes and sizes. Ask them to sort by type, colour, or size using fingers or tweezers. This helps with finger control and precision needed for writing!

🖍️✨ 2. Sponge Squeezing: Fill a bowl with water and let your child use a sponge to soak, squeeze, and transfer water to another bowl. It’s fantastic for building hand strength, which is vital for holding a pencil.

🖍️✨ 3. Clothespin Pick-Up: Use clothespins to pick up small items like pom-poms, cotton balls, or Lego pieces. The pinching motion strengthens fingers and builds fine motor coordination.
