Student Panav shared the following insight into our AED project:

“I had the incredible opportunity to present at the AED Trust Final, where I spoke with a wide range of inspiring individuals about an issue that truly matters—tackling knife crime.

Alongside Ali Khan, I co-developed an Anti-Knife Crime Organisation for Space Studio West London. This project is rooted in one clear mission: creating safer communities by empowering young people, raising awareness, and driving meaningful, long-term change.

While we didn’t win the final challenge, I want to be honest—I could pretend I’m not disappointed, but the truth is I’m devastated. Competing against teams of up to six people, Ali and I poured everything we had into this project. Every idea, every detail, every moment of preparation came from us. When we presented, we didn’t rely on a script—just pure passion and belief in what we’re building, and I think that came through in our delivery.

That said, this experience was far more than a competition. It was a platform—one that allowed us to share our vision, receive valuable feedback, and connect with people who are equally committed to making a difference.

Our idea doesn’t stop here. In many ways, this is just the beginning. We truly believe the impact of our project can extend far beyond today, and we are determined to continue developing it, growing its reach, and turning it into something that creates real, lasting change.

A huge thank you to the AED Trust for the opportunity, and to everyone who took the time to engage with our work. The conversations, insights, and support we received will stay with us as we move forward. A huge thank you to Mrs Lee who believed in us every step of the way and a congratulations to those who won at Rivers Academy West London.

This isn’t the end—it’s the starting point.”

Our students taking part in the Virgin Atlantic’s Passport to Change – Event 3.

They took part in a series of engaging sessions covering Finance, Cargo, and Technology, and offering a real insight into the variety of careers within the industry.

A highlight from the Cargo session saw students get hands-on, loading parcels onto a pallet while considering weight and size – a practical way to bring the role to life.

A valuable and inspiring experience for the students involved.

Day 2 of Student Robotics 2026

Out of 22 teams, only 2 were rookies—and we were proud to be one of them.

We reached Match 64 before being knocked out, an achievement that reflects not just our performance this weekend, but the months of dedication, problem-solving, and teamwork behind it.

We were also awarded Excellence in Engineering for the functionality and skill demonstrated in our Breaking Bad-themed robot. A fitting recognition for a STEM-focused school and a testament to the creativity and technical ability of the entire team.

An incredible experience from start to finish. Grateful to be part of such a committed and talented group—this is only the beginning.

Our students have been hard at work in school over the Easter break, preparing for the Student Robotics 2026 competition taking place on 11th and 12th April at Southampton University.

In this year’s challenge, The Neutral Zone, teams must sort and catalogue mixed chemical samples, carefully selecting which to collect. With strong chemicals in play, precision is key. If acidic and basic samples are brought too close together, they will react and neutralise each other, making them worthless.

We’ve embraced the challenge with a Breaking Bad theme for both our robot and our outfits. Looking forward to putting our work to the test.
