GJW Direct SailFest is designed as an event with something for all the family and Calshot certainly offers plenty of activity choices. For the sailor there is a 3-day dinghy racing regatta from Saturday to Monday and a pre-regatta training day on Friday 22nd August. Throughout the weekend there are options to use the superb Calshot Activity Centre facilities - including watersports, dry-slope skii
ng, archery, climbing and, of course, the velodrome. All equipment is provided for activities so sensible clothes are all that is required. Proposed Format
Friday -
Coaching Day. Separate to the regatta entry fee, the coaching day gives the opportunity to spend time on (and off) the water receiving training from top coaches. Saturday - Registration
Coach briefing
3 morning races. Handicap racing with average lap scoring. Classes with sufficient entries will be given their own start and their results can be extrapolated from the overall scores to give fleet rankings
Early finish to racing giving the opportunity to take part in activities offered by Calshot Activity Centre
Coaching video debrief, meal and social evening
Sunday
Coach briefing with introduction and summary of the conditions expected for the day
Up to 4 races, as for Saturday
Mid-afternoon finish to give the opportunity to enjoy other activities
