We're excited to introduce a new tutor, and exciting new series of workshops, to Creative Courses.

Nick Stewart has spent much of his working life at some of London’s top creative agencies and design studios as a designer, visualiser and lettering specialist. He has also spent the last ten years or so working with ink, re-imagining fountain pen inks as a creative medium.

Join us for the first in a series of workshops, where you will begin to explore the diversity of fountain pen ink colours, sheens and shimmers, their unique make up, and reactions with water and bleach. The techniques shown will allow students to work both ‘dark into light’ and ‘light into dark’ and across a diverse range of disciplines including: watercolour painting, illustration, hand lettering, calligraphy and fine art.

A great introduction to ! You'll start the day by making a punching cradle - a useful tool for piercing paper folds. You'll then put it to use straight away, making a slim hardcover notebook, and learning about bookbinding tools, materials and methods along the way.

All materials, including paper, board, various decorative papers, bookcloth, linen thread and adhesive to make your own uniquely designed books are included.

You’ll take away your punching cradle and unique handbound book, new skills, and the satisfaction and wellbeing of a day spent creatively.

Every time we run this workshop, I am amazed by the results.

There is something about this method that yields striking results every time, regardless of experience.

We’ve had people who haven’t done anything creative since school, leave with brilliant prints; and experienced printmakers gain fresh ideas and inspiration from discovering a new technique to add to their skillset.

Come along, bring your imagination, and discover how a bit of old oat milk carton can easily be transformed into a print plate, and used to create your own set of unique prints.

Retreat from the heat! Enjoy some creative calm this weekend, in our beautifully air-conditioned workshop.

This coming Sunday 16th August you can spend the day experimenting with the process. You'll use leaves, textured materials and ink to create a series of your own uniquely beautiful prints.

Ideal for both newcomers to printmaking, and those with some experience who would like to free up their creative process and have some inky fun! Monoprint is a great technique to learn, produces stunning results and can be combined with other printmaking methods.

Master the art of printing linocuts in colour with this weekend workshop run by Nick Morley aka .
Over the two days, you will learn how to effectively plan, carve and print a two block design, covering all aspects from the basics of carving the lino, through to effective and accurate colour registration.
Linocut is a very satisfying and accessible printmaking technique. Although the basic principles of linocut are easy to learn, there are several things the printmaker needs to know in order to produce successful and impressive prints. Join Nick on this two part course for a sound grounding in how to plan, prepare and print a series of two colour designs for you to take home.
