Benecare has provided residential childcare from 2007 and is one of the largest providers in Kent offering 16 beds to Local Authorities for children and young people aged 8 to 18. “Providing Care without compromise” is our commitment and the guiding principle in all that we do. We never forget that the child comes first and our reputation has been established through working with complex needs cas

es from all over the country. In 2007 our objective was to offer a bespoke service for local authority commissioners and 17 years later this remains the case. Many authorities are now seeking complex needs places which require multi-layered inputs from professionals and related agencies and Benecare is well placed to meet these requirements. We have always adopted a flexible and resourceful approach in meeting demands from our colleagues for children who are often “difficult to place”. For Benecare this means that we place great emphasis on “matching” the children and young people to any one of our homes; we endeavour always to provide the best residential opportunity for the child or young person and if we are unable to make a match then we will tell you so. Our service provision is resilient and we embody the principle that revolves around preferring to ensure that each of the children we care for has another chance when things go wrong. This means that our placements are often long-standing and that the Homes consist of settled residential groups for often protracted periods of time – we do not have schools within our Homes or offer a school’s service. We prefer to enable our children and young people to settle down and then secure for them equitable education opportunities within the local communities.

Our younger children at 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗵𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 enjoyed a wonderful session of arts and crafts, games, and colouring with the team from 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲.

𝗧𝗼𝗺 was completely immersed in colouring with the children and didn’t want to leave!

Simple moments like these bring so much joy and create 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 for both the children and visitors alike.

Our team and have also been getting into the spirit of the FIFA World Cup, decorating our homes with flags from around the globe and, most importantly, getting ready for tonight’s England football team match. A huge 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 to our 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, for sending their second group of employees to visit us in Moshi this year.

Yesterday, the team spent the day at 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗵𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺, getting 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗻 with daily farm activities. They 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘄𝘀, 𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 for animal feed, 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, and 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗲.

The highlight of the day came when one cow, a little unsettled by unfamiliar hands during milking, decided it wanted to 𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗻, sending the group into a 𝗵𝗮𝘀𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁, and providing plenty of laughter for everyone involved.

We hosted a special Bonanza, where all our homes whipped up an incredible selection of homemade treats. The standard was exceptionally high, and it was fantastic to see so much creativity, effort and enthusiasm from everyone involved.

After much deliberation from our judges, Ocean Lodge were crowned the winners with their inventive three-tier featuring layers of pistachio and almond, raspberry and coconut, and orange and lemon, all finished with matching flavoured buttercream! 🎂

Congratulations to everyone who took part and helped make it such a fantastic event.

Congratulations to Ocean Lodge on being rated Good in all areas following their latest Ofsted inspection 🎉

The report highlighted the passion, dedication, and commitment shown by managers and staff, recognising their shared vision for providing high quality, individualised and the positive relationships built with .

We were especially proud to read “One social worker described the home as the best that they had ever come across and another said that they would be happy to place another child there in the future.”

This recognition comes shortly after Ocean Lodge were awarded Highly Commended in the Above & Beyond Team (South) category at The CYP Stars Awards Awards 2026.
