It’s been so much fun being back with my little stars this week, and seeing their little excited faces coming back in to greet their friends

We have been busy with our little hands and fingers, making playdough, creating models with the different tools and techniques, painting, drawing, collecting and building while including some numbers and letters and lots of new vocab

We have been out to playgroup to see our other friends and we have enjoyed splashing in puddles and fishing in the rain for garden time this week, singing “rain songs” as we played ☔️

The number spoon songs were our favourite at circle time and we have shared lots of stories while sitting on our little chairs this week 😊

This week at little stars our lovely little caterpillars that we have all watched grow and change over the the last month, finished their life cycle and came out of their cocoons as beautiful butterflies!
Unfortunately we didn’t time this last part well as Little stars is closed so we have tried to capture the butterflies for all to see 🦋

This week at little stars we have been on bug hunts, we found a spider in the house and looked after it while watching it through the magnifying glass, when we set him free, we talked about why we need to be careful with the spider and all minibeasts 😊

We have been for a little library visit today, finding some new books to go alongside our colour monster pictures that we have been making while talking about our feelings and emotions

We have played some number games, including number fishing and the number hedgehog and we have been singing lots of lovely songs using our new instruments and the song bag to help us chose

We have dodged showers in the garden but also enjoyed getting all wrapped up and under our umbrellas to have fun in the rain and we have been practising our pedalling and scooting on the trikes and scooters 🛴

We have had a lovely few trips out recently!
On Thursday we made our way to Marwell to spot our favourite animals 😊
We had the best time, it was very quiet which gave us lots of time to take it all in and talk about what we could see, we noticed the animals patterns, how many legs they had, what they were eating, how big their teeth were, how heavy they might be and we also managed to spot some baby animals 😊

We had a wonderful visit to Titchfield Nature Reserve today and discovered so many exciting things—tadpoles, fairy doors, birds, ponies, butterflies, bumblebees, dragonflies, a pond, and some beautiful flowers. We even ended our trip by feeding the ducks!

Using our exploration gear, the children were fully engaged as they explored the natural environment, sparking lots of conversation and curiosity. They were especially thrilled to visit the bird hide and to have the ducks come so close to us 😊

This week our caterpillars arrived that my little stars had requested.
When they arrive they are so tiny and we have already seen them grow so much in just one week together
We have been talking about the life cycle of a butterfly, using lots of books and activities to explore caterpillars and butterflies together, helping to tell the hungry caterpillar story together with our picture cards and we even took a little trip to see some very big and beautiful cocoons and butterflies 🦋

Earth day in action!
We are all looking forward to our grass seed growing on our planet Earth that we made and will be watering this together to help look after it and watch its progress 🌍

Today we were ready for the sunshine and for our friends to join us to play
Earth day was continued in our theme and we all enjoyed pottering about the garden together exploring all of our favourite activities 🌍

It’s a shorter week this week but we have enjoyed our two days back after Easter

We have been busy with some colour mixing today, using our new squeezey bottles and some scoops, jugs and china tea set to mix and pour, my oldest little star was helping to guide the younger children on which colours they would need to mix to make other colours 🎨

We have been playing our instruments and singing some nursery rhymes together, we found our favourite dandelion song to dance to with the ribbons and scarfs, we have been exploring the spring time toys and I even got a hair cut and very well looked after at Little stars hairdressers 😊

The children also took some items they have been collecting to the charity shop after playgroup this week, this has helped us to talk about the awareness of giving to others and those in need, the children were very happy to pass these over to the ladies in the shop and are keen to visit the food bank with our other items soon 🥰

I am looking forward to welcoming all little stars back from their Easter break this week and I can’t wait to hear what everyone has been up too
If your little ones would like to share any photos with their friends to show and talk about their Easter adventures please don’t hesitate to send some over to me or send them in with your children for us to share together 🐣⭐
