Reception had a wonderful walk along the river today and were very lucky with the beautiful weather! ☀️
The children loved spotting wildlife, including swans with their cygnets and even a heron. To top it all off, they were excited to see a train crossing over the bridge! 🚂
A lovely little adventure enjoyed together with their friends 😊

Year 2 visited Exmouth on Tuesday to help us answer our Geography enquiry question - What is it like to live by the coast?
We looked for Human Features of the town and collected data in a tally chart. When we were back at school we discussed our findings.

Year 6 have completed an exciting Design and Technology project in which they were challenged to design and create a miniature model of a children’s playground. Throughout the project, pupils applied their creativity, problem-solving skills and understanding of design principles to develop playgrounds that were both fun and safe for young children.
The children carefully planned their ideas, produced detailed designs and selected appropriate materials before constructing their models. They demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and attention to detail as they refined their creations and overcame design challenges.
We were incredibly impressed by the imagination and effort shown by all pupils. The finished playground models featured a variety of exciting play equipment, including swings, slides, climbing frames and roundabouts. Well done, Year 6, on producing such innovative and high-quality designs!

More sporting success 🏆🥇
What a week it’s been for girl’s sport at Montgomery! Today we took a team of Year 6 girls to compete in the Devon Cricket Foundation South Devon u11 Countdown Cricket competition. It was a scorcher of a day at South Devon Cricket Club ☀️ and one filled with fun and development as 6 teams battled it out on the wicket 🏏
After finishing in top spot in our group, following victories against Warberry & Starcross, we faced the winners of the other group, Rydon, in an overall 1st/2nd place showdown. It was a closely contested match, and despite Rydon being a very strong opponent, we managed to walk away victorious- winning the match by 10 runs thanks to our best performance of the day with the bat, and a couple of wickets when fielding separating the teams
With a friendly against Oldway in the mix, we finished the day as overall champions in 1st place out of 6, with an impecable 100% win record from our 4 matches. A fine result which now sees us qualify for the Devon County Finals in July, alongside the runners up Rydon 🤝
What a day and what a week 💜🥇 now to enjoy some well-earned rest and some vitamin D ☀️ before a very busy 2nd half of summer term
Great achievement from all the girls 🤩

🌟🐌 Exciting Whole-School Art Project! 🐌🌟
We’re thrilled to share a fantastic creative opportunity coming to our school this term! 🎨✨
From our youngest learners in Nursery right through to Year 6, every class will be taking part in a special recycled art project. Each class will design and create their very own snail sculpture—using a cable drum for the shell and a variety of recycled materials that can withstand all weather conditions. 🌿♻️
These amazing creations will then be proudly displayed as part of TRAIL Teignmouth’s recycled art exhibition over the summer holidays… what an incredible way to showcase our children’s creativity to the wider community! 🌞🎉
🖌️ Get involved at home!
The competition is now open, and we would love children to start designing their ideas.
📅 Deadline: 08.06.26
📩 Please return all designs to your child’s class teacher by this date.
We cannot wait to see the imaginative and colourful designs our children come up with—let’s get creating! 💡🐌💚
