This week, Mr Bishop catches up with pupils as they take part in summer concerts across the Trust, joining children at Killerton to celebrate their performances and the fantastic talent on display.

We finish the week by reflecting on Sky Arts Week and hearing what it has meant to the children. We are incredibly fortunate to have such talented art teachers across the Trust, who inspire creativity and share their passion so enthusiastically. With this year’s theme focused on Joy, it has been wonderful to see that brought to life in so many ways.

Joyful Shapes in Year 1

Today, Year 1 transformed colour and shape into beautiful bunting as part of their Joyful Shapes project.

The children experimented with different patterns, colours and designs, creating a vibrant collection that reflects their individuality and creativity.

The finished bunting is already brightening up our learning spaces!

A Day Filled With Music

Music has taken centre stage today as pupils explored rhythm, performance and creative expression as part of Sky Arts Week.

From singing and listening activities to performance opportunities, children have been discovering how music can bring people together, build confidence and spark joy.

The excitement doesn’t stop there, with our school choir continuing rehearsals this evening as they prepare for their upcoming summer performance at Killerton – an event they are all eagerly looking forward to.

A wonderful reminder of the important role the arts play in school life and the opportunities they create for children to grow in confidence and creativity.

Creating Joy Together

Year 3 spent today exploring shape, colour and collaboration as part of their Joyful Shapes project.

Working together, pupils created pieces for a large collaborative installation, discovering how individual ideas can come together to create something even more powerful and beautiful.

The creativity, teamwork and enthusiasm on display were wonderful to see.

Reimagining Our School Through Design

Today, Years 4 and 6 launched our Access All Arts Week activities by exploring bold colour, pattern and public art inspired by Morag Myerscough.

Pupils were challenged to think like designers and architects, using welcoming, joyful bright shapes and patterns. Their ideas were full of creativity, colour and imagination!

We're excited to see how their designs develop throughout the week.

Reception’s trip to The World of Country Life. As part of our topic this term ‘Amazing Animals’ we have learned about pets and farm animals.

We loved seeing the animals in person after learning about them in the classroom!

We also went on the deer train where we had the opportunity to feed the deer and alpacas!

We had a picnic lunch outside as the weather was sunny!

We all throughly enjoyed visiting the animals, seeing heritage vehicles like tractors and jumping on the inflatable pillow!

This week, Mr Bishop catches up with some of our youngest pupils to hear all about the fun they had on their recent trip to the World of Country Life. We also round off the week by seeing the exciting adventures some of our older pupils have been enjoying during their visit to Sweden.

It certainly has been a week full of adventure across the Trust.
