If you’ve ever felt intimidated by irises - or any flower that seems too complicated - this tutorial is for you; available right now on YouTube . Sometimes the most beautiful paintings happen when we stop trying to control every detail and simply let the paint do what it does best.

This sunny seaside town (Pitweneem, Scotland) was the winner of our latest YouTube Members vote, and I’ll be showing you exactly how to paint it in loose, expressive watercolour.

One of my favourite things about the channel membership is that members help shape what we paint together. Their votes often push me towards subjects I might not otherwise choose, and they always end up becoming some of my favourite tutorials.
Join me tonight at 5:30pm BST for the full paint-along and let’s escape to the coast for an hour or two.
Are you more inspired by the sea or the countryside?

There’s something so special about a handwritten recipe card.
Tonight at 5:30pm BST on YouTube, I’m painting an illustrated recipe card inspired by a true British classic: Victoria Sponge. Using Dame Mary Berry’s beloved recipe as our guide, I’ll show you how to combine simple watercolour illustrations with hand lettering to create a keepsake that’s as lovely to look at as it is to bake from.
I think these make the most thoughtful gifts too: imagine baking someone a Victoria Sponge and tucking a painted recipe card alongside it, or creating a gift box filled with all the ingredients and a handmade card they can treasure for years to come.
Join me tonight and let’s turn a favourite recipe into a little piece of art.
