Save the date! 🤩The British Science Festival is coming to Liverpool in partnership with the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University!
From the 10 – 14 September, take part in FREE workshops, talks, performances and lots more at iconic cultural venues across Liverpool city centre, the docks and university campuses.
From comedy shows to art installations; dynamic performances to hands-on workshops; insightful talks to interactive experiences, our programme of over 100 FREE events has something for everyone.
Join us in celebrating science in all its varied forms, including health and sport, space, forensics, animals and nature, psychology and lots more.
Brought to life through collaborations between some of the world’s leading scientists working together with local community groups, collectives and creatives. The Festival, also includes a weekend of events in partnership with the Liverpool Biennial exploring the theme of ‘BEDROCK’.

We are now accepting applications for event proposals and nominations for our award lecture programme🎤🎙️
Open call for event proposals - are you interested in running an event as part of the 2025 British Science Festival? Anyone can propose an event and the Festival celebrates science in its broadest sense. We are looking for proposals from individuals, researchers, industry professionals, artists, writers, organisations, charities, academic institutions, and more. To apply, please complete the proposal form by 23.59 on Monday 20 January 2025.
Award Lecture nominations - are you, or do you know, an exceptional early career researcher? Every year the British Science Association asks for applications for the seven Award Lectureships available to early career academics who are skilled at engaging people with their research. The deadline for proposals is 23.59 on 11 December 2024.

We're delighted to announce that the British Science Festival for 2026 will take place in Southampton.
The Festival will be hosted by the University of Southampton, a world-leading research university and founding member of the Russell Group.
Over five days, the festival will take place with events in venues across the city between September 16 and 20.
