GOALKEEPER TRAINING

Select Soccer’s specific Goalkeeper training at our Tuesday night Torquay Centre. These small group sessions are suitable for all aspiring goalkeepers from 8 years to 16 years, both male and female.

This is the session for young goalkeepers wanting to learn all the skills needed to master the trade and separate themselves from others.

Select Soccer’s Academy programme is an invitation only session. This programme is for players who have either been identified through the Select coaching programme, or have been invited from local grassroots clubs as players who may suit more advanced technical coaching. The sessions are designed to prepare players for Professional Academy trials, County trials and/or to develop the players to push themselves further in their grassroots club’s pathway.

All Select Academy players will have a Strength and Conditioning session to help prevent injuries and condition their bodies and mind for the game. They will also receive a technical session lead by the Academy coaches, with the aim to develop skills, knowledge and understanding at a more advanced level. Our Senior academy sessions are split into Senior Girls and Senior Boys, to ensure age appropriate and game specific training can be given to the players.

GIRLS DEVELOPMENT AT SELECT!

Our development centres cater for all abilities and offer players the chance to develop their skills and learn the game in a fun and structured environment. Our sessions focus on developing core football skills as well as physical, technical, social and psychological attributes.

Our girls development sessions allow players to access groups where they can feel comfortable and develop their skills in the right environment for them.

Our development sessions are separated into Junior Development and Senior Development groups, allowing players to access age-appropriate training.

TUESDAY MIXED DEVELOPMENT

If you’re looking for football development for players aged 7-16, contact a member of the team for all of the information on our development programme that runs weekly on a Tuesday night!

GIRLS MINIS CENTRE

This group is ideal for those girls that may be starting out on their football journey or those wanting to progress from wildcat taster sessions and our now ready to continue their development in a fun field action pack session

Our Girls Mini Centres are designed for players of all abilities with the emphasis on players improving their core skills while enjoying training sessions from our inspiring and experienced coaches.

We are proud of the welcoming, inclusive and fun atmosphere at our minis centres and now our girls get to experience it in their own group as they start their journey through our existing pathway.

TUESDAY TORQUAY MINIS

Select Soccer becomes part of our players’ lives from the moment they first enjoy kicking a football. We want the players of tomorrow to develop in a balanced but individual way in a fun-filled environment. Mini's sessions are all about touching and kicking the ball, pure and simple. Our experienced and friendly coaches are on hand at all times to ensure the safety of players but also to inspire them to express themselves and bring a smile to their experience in their early years of football.

Select MINI's centre is designed for our 4 - 7-Year-old boys and girls. These sessions focus on ensuring the players get as many touches on the ball in a fun and safe environment, allowing for independent development. All mini sessions are age banded into 4 Year-olds, 5 year-olds, 5 - 6–Year-Olds, and 6 - 7-Year-Olds to help our players develop through age-appropriate content.

Our mini sessions have an emphasis on developing the players’ FUNdamental skills whilst building a long-lasting love for the game. For those players who just want to play for fun, we have groups, and for those wishing to test their skills a little further, we also have groups. This allows all players to develop and learn at their own pace whilst offering a pathway from social to advanced groups.

Wildcats on Friday is always so much fun. Filled with lots of laughter, it was great to see our female players enjoying their football. Watching them grow in confidence both socially and technically is fantastic 🤩⚽️
